But Trump’s last two months in office won’t serve as a distraction if he isn’t one of the primary candidates. Even worse if he wins the nomination. I believe America will be better served if Trump isn’t one of the primary candidates.

Impeachment wasn’t meant as a tool to get rid of political enemies. If it were, it wouldn’t have said anything about crimes and misdemeanors and would have just said it is a tool for Congress to get rid of political opponents they don’t like.
To me, you have to show that Trump intended those people to enter the Capitol illegally in order to impeach him.

I don’t disagree. Impeachment shouldn’t be used as a political weapon.
