I guess I just thought the US were better than this and what they always fought against. And to talk about taking over a neighbouring country is unfathomable.
Trump is one heck of a fisherman. He gets the Libs to bite hook, line and sinker with every cast. The funny thing is, they complain that he is always lying, yet they seem to believe everything he says.
Greenland did not just come out of the blue. The US has had territorial interest in that island that has varied by degree off and on for the last 80 years or so. Which is longer than Trump has been alive.
“As early as 1867, the United States showed interest in purchasing Greenland due to its valuable coal deposits, extensive fishing opportunities and the beliefs that it would prevent British influence, while also pressuring Canada to join the United States. But no official offer was made at the time. Since then, several pursuits to acquire the island for the U.S. have yielded no results,…”
He said it repeatedly and in front of his meeting with Canadas prime minister but even as an idea it goes against Magas no 1 issue of protecting your borders.
Whether in jest or not it has created tension between hitherto friendly neighbours which didn’t need to happen.
And who would stop Trump from doing anything anyhow.
Maga says close the border, Trump says well let’s open the other end completely and it’s some kind of joke.
Why would you want to build a wall at one end of your border to keep invaders out and open up the other end to allow everyone in.
And no pushback loosing friendly neighbours is shrugged off like it’s nothing for no reason.
