Well as horrible as the Taliban was and will be again the one area they cracked down was “Boy Play” which shot up again after their ouster. It is part of their culture it’s not a western thing we don’t know by looking a picture who is who and who has done what.
There is a middle point of refugee bad or refugee good they can be both and many time are.
America accept 120,000 refugee from Vietnam in a single year wasn’t a problem.

The problem is I don’t expect many on the left to get is when migrations surges like it has on the south of the border and one side treats it like “Nothing to see here” the other side hardens it’s views.
Few would not agree on either side that according to immigration laws the afghans fit the true definition of and asylum seeker and refugee. If the border wasn’t such a partisan issue like it used to be few would object those Afghans coming here for asylum.
Problem is there is 30 million illegals (depending on the source) in the country and we are getting close to 200,000 a month from the southern border since one side ended the remain in Mexico order.
I don’t expect those who are for endless migration to understand this but for those of us who don’t want to be taxed more as well as watching the effect of decay of social cohesion it’s what makes the right say no thanks.
The messaging has changed so much on the left since around 2012 I hardily even want to talk to them about migration as they took a 180 degree turn from previous positions of the Democratic Party.

The Taliban did advance while Trump was drawing down our forces from February of last year onward…they never stopped.
One of the reasons they were so ready to topple the government so quickly.
I would imagine what country is going to fill the void.
And China will give two ■■■■■ about human rights or fighting a humanitarian war.

The Taliban has been advancing and gaining ground every year since 2014.
I’m hearing talk of the Northern Alliance coming back at lest people are trying to rally counter-insurgency in the North currently.
