No, sorry, wasn’t Trump policy, he said if the Taliban advanced on our retreat he would reevaluate the withdrawal but thanks for playing,

Because everyone is built to fight as war in a desert.

Taliban has been on the up swing for years they didn’t just magically appear out of no where three months ago.

he said when the Taliban was making advancing in Afghanistan during his whole term.

Humans are uniquely evolved for heat dissipation in hot climates. That’s why we don’t have fur.

Where did I excuse prior admins? Fail.

I’m afraid I can’t agree. This was completely mishandled.

Did we need to leave. Yes. But in this manner basically knowing it would fall apart like this immediately? With no contingency plan to get american and other western personnel out? Including the thousands of local allies who helped us for the past twenty years?

This could have been handled literally a million times better. Saigon didn’t even look this bad.

Want to do that comparison? Really?

You claimed Trump wouldn’t allow Taliban to advance, which they did during his whole term they gained territory every year since 2014.

No they didn’t, prove it.

I’m not sure anyone could have anticipated that Afghani forces wouldn’t even try.

Biden will take his hits for this- I’m not denying that.

When I said he made the right move, I’m saying he made the right move to leave, even though the Taliban reclaiming control was going to happen anyway.

Man, that’s hilarious.

are you under the impression the war in Afghanistan stopped in 2016-2020, Taliban has been gaining ground since 2014 when major combat operation ended.

The Iraqis basically did the same thing during the initial ISIL assaults there in the western provinces. Hell they had second hand M1 Abrams and got out of their vehicles and ran as fast as they could towards their rear lines.

Probably should have taken some lessons from that fiasco.

I expected them to at least offer token resistance. Fire a few shots and then surrender. From what I’ve seen so far the only guys who actually stood their ground were the ANA commando units.

This was absolutely pathetic.

They fought for three months,
hard to fight when your leadership and government abandons you to die.

They had better equipment and outnumbered the Taliban two to one in most cases.

They could have at least conducted a fighting retreat. Their own sense of self survival should have made their officers make that decision.

It’s not like the Taliban are going to spare them once they’ve fully consolidated anyway.

Gibberish.

What’s gibberish?

During this renewed offensive they literally fell apart.

The whole military command system fleed, they have no air force, no one is coming to help them, there not going to stand on a hill to die for a country and military that literally abandon them.

the number of 350K is a myth likely over 100K + of those people don’t exist and are only on the rolls so they can get more money from the government.

they are fighting people who have lived on a battlefield since they were teenagers, spend time in prison being tortured, religious fanatics.
