Israel represents everything they perceive the US to be, and activists typically despise the US. They see Israel as a “Colonizer” nation, ruled by white supremacy, that bullies the rest of the Middle East. The Palestinian gaslighting has also effectively taken over social media, especially TikTok. You can’t escape it, and the atrocities of Hamas are completely glossed over. Nobody even questions the “Gaza Health Ministry” body count, despite the fact that they’ve been caught lying prior to this conflict and they’re run by a jihadist terror group.

Though, if we look at it, they’re really not low IQ? I’ve seen some of my classmates take all or almost all AP courses a year- starting with AP-US History in sophomore year and then taking AP Calc (I think it was Calc BC?), AP Lang. and Comp. (I took this one), AP World History, AP Chem., and potentially AP Biology (which would translate into Bio for Non-Majors) or AP Psychology Junior year.

Some of my classmates could handle the rigors, and some of these classes required critical thinking, particularly math.

I mean a lot of them got into ARC which was the gifted cirruculum in elementary school. I was on-level. So, as a Conservative, being Conservative doesn’t translate to high IQ. I’m sorry to shoot you down. I’m not sure how some of my classmates could be hoodwinked into voting for communism?

I personally felt that the Palestinians needed collective punishment in the early days of the war. But now I’m kind of feeling like it’s beating an unconscious dog at this point. There’s no other lessons that can be taught here.

On the other hand we only know what the Media tells us. We really do not know exactly what is going on between Hamas and the IDF.

For example … how is the tunnel flooding going? Last I heard (many weeks ago) was that Israel was bringing in several large pumps to flood tunnel with sea water to flush the Hamas fighters out where they could be killed and to destroy their supplies.

Also, it’s hard to believe that Hamas had more than enough arms, ammo, food and medical supplies cached to be able carry on fighting for six months. How are they being supplied?

I’m fine on being on the side of “not killing civilians”. I understand the limitations and constraints that puts on countries trying to fight terrorism, but those constraints are what separate us from the terrorists. I want Israel to remove Hamas from the planet, but it has to be done without killing civilians.

That’s astoundingly naive. It’s a war. Civilians always die in wars. Particularly when the combatants on one side use them as cover.

I think these are very small minorities of young people, many of whom are just getting caught up in the fight as a, dumb, way of expressing themselves for the first time.

The media is blowing this out of proportion and taking advantage of it for political purposes, as they do.

Just wait for the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this coming August and we’ll see how out of proportion it is. (Deja vu 1968 all over again.)
