For a lot of economically weak nations trade settlement is demanded in dollars currently. And not just for energy. BRIC doesn’t just want to replace the petro dollar, they want to settle the majority, if not all trade, in anything but dollars.

I don’t know what type of highly organized paramilitary bandits you think I’m going to encounter out here, but there’s currently 17 people living on my land and at least 20 more that could easily fit. Well over half are fellow combat veterans. I have my own armed forces. lol
Doubtful the hungry masses will be unable to travel. At least some of them will organize in to large bands. You will be looking at a visit by one of them from the nearest population centers that have thousands of armed members. Maybe even Chinese troops.
If you ever feel overwhelmed when the time comes, you’re more than welcome to come out here and help work my fields in exchange for safe housing and food.
I have it covered but I don’t share your optimism I will be able to defend my resources from the millions who don’t.
It’s not optimism, it’s my reality. There’s no world in which I don’t gain weight and die old following the collapse of civilization, it’s just as simple as that.

All the while the kid-sniffer took the guns from the now starving herd so even if they have any ammo left they’ll have to insert bullets manualy to steal someone’s stash.

If you are outnumbered badly enough they don’t need bullets.
I think the best tactic is to stock up on food, water, and ammo in silence.

That’s second best. First best is living a lifestyle that precludes you from the need to stock up.
