Ever seen somebody get into a big ol’ van or SUV, dial someone on their phone and with the phone glued to their ear, start backing out of a parking space?

I’ve never understood why they can’t just wait until they get out of the parking lot and onto a road…

New Jersey Jug Handle.

I know what you’re talking about. I’ve seen those ‘mechanical’ (for lack of a better word) metering systems. Most now (I think) are moving towards an electronic metering which track not only the size of the shot, but how many shots are poured.

Admittedly I’m not as familiar as I used to be. My social life no longer revolves around public drinking establishments. I could probably get an update from some of my grandkids. They’re all drinking age now.

I love them. The times I have to stop is easily negated during light traffic times I do not.

This is different than diverging diamond. Main flow actually switches sides of the road. Normally you drive on the Right side of the road. As you come to the freeway, main flow moves over into the left lanes, and after the intersection moves back over into the left lanes.

I’m trying to find it on the internet. But so far I can only find the continuous flow intersections (another weird Utah one I think).

Nevermind. it is Diverging diamond.

In Utah it’s not an electronic one (in most bars). It’s a special cap that goes on the bottle. You turn the bottle upsaide down pull one lever, and the cap fills with 1 oz of alcohol. Release that one, pull the second lever and it dumps into the cup.

If DABC is in house and the see a bartender not using one – it’s a significant fine. They see a bartender put two meters in a drink, significant fine again. With the fines, if it’s a repeat, they can be shut down for 2 weeks.

And mini bottles are 1.5 oz.

In NJ these are called jug handles. And they’ve been there since before probably anyone on this board was born.

Some people love them. Some hate them.

I don’t think I’ve been through a drive through in 30 years or more.

The fact that you are pretty much forced to slow down as opposed to barreling through a red light means that accident occur at slower speeds, so they cut down significantly on injuries and fatalities. The whole point is to slow you down, regardless of the fact that it inconveniences many.

There was quite a lot of confusion when they opened this one lol.

This too ^^

That’s just the configuration used in my town to access I-15.

I don’t spend much time in bars anymore either, and particularly ones that have those kinds of things. I’m more of a saloon type lol.

Springsteen isn’t the only thing to come out of NJ.

That confirms it then. I’ve never seen one.

This is an example. One the bar in my town uses has two levers instead of the one.

Holy smokes. Excuse my French, but that is ■■■■■■■ extreme.

Amen. I hated those european roundabouts.

Don’t go camping. Stay away from campgrounds as well with all those toxic campfires.
