Interesting Tik Tok experiment (bans hateful content against numerous groups, but not Christians)

This is interesting.

Well, that’s stupid

It does not look like a coincidence to me.

There is only one word switched in the search.

I can’t imagine that it is.

I don’t know how you did that, but I entered all the same phrases and when I put in “christians” I got this:

I dunno
Try searching “Top” instead of user names maybe?

I you look at the tweet itself, there are many that get the same results as I do. Somehow, this is fake. It has to be.

Or TikTok made a change after someone put this out

I can only guess what happened after
elon Musk (himself) commented on it.

I think someone made a nice fake.

Or - much more likely - you and Musk both got suckered by a fake screenshot.

I cannot rule out the possibility.
but if Elon messed up it will be on the all the media, so I guess we’ll know.

No one in “the media” cares about Musk getting suckered by right-wing trolls on Twitter - it’s literally been happening every day for the last six months.

“Dog bites man” isn’t news.

This is all Musk did. His usual insightfully succinct tweet.

I moved to Mastodon after twitter got “weird”, but still check it out once in awhile. Musk loves to comment before investigating.

Here are my results
I guess they fixed only part of it maybe?

Speaking of TikTok…

Will be great to see how they enforce this.

As far as I know (and I am guessing here)
Tik Tok does not gather any more information than Google gathers.
I enabled GoogleMaps so

  • it knows how long I spend in McDs
  • it uses that information to calculate things like “busiest time” statistics
  • I see McDs ads
  • I don’t know if it sells the information to America’s enemies or what they would do with the information.

(Hey, at least I don’t use Applepay)

I suspect there is something sneaky and wrong going on with the ban Tik Tok bill.
Nonetheless those are the results I got when I added a hash mark.
So I (now) believe the original tweet to be authentic.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing.
