No I don’t think they do either. In order to get that vote they will have to continue to adopt democrat positions. Not sure they will do that post Trump.
And struggle to get even that. Trump moved the needle, but he is an anomaly for the traditional (post CRA) GOP.
I believe this is true. Dems are even adopting this stance.
Sure, that’s the whole crit strategy. Notice how it evolves.
POC is now BIPOC. Feminism was first. Then black. Then queer. Then black again.
Their problem is it works. And once it works, that group is no longer aggrieved. Now you have to develop a new proletariat.
Here’s the problem clearly defined:
This society in which we live does not immiserate the workers but helps them to build a better life.
People with “a better life” don’t want a revolution - of any kind.
And once they have it, the people in their group who continue to demand it seem more and more crazy. There comes a point where rational people say, “Ok, that’s enough. We’ve done enough.”
The other problem is equality vs fair and outcome based. The vast majority, especially Americans, get to a point where they say, “Ok, we’ve done this, this and this. Now it’s up to you.”
Of course those points vary from person to person.
Abolitionists (activists) fought for black slaves to be free… once they were free… did they continue to fight for black slaves to be free? No. They change their focus to “equality”.
Now those same activists wanted former slaves to be “integrated” into society… this is reconstruction. Specifically the freedman’s bureau. Once they had that organization, did they stop? No because the bureau was dismantled and black codes started… then Jim Crow etc etc.
My point here is activism/progressivism is ACTIVE. The question of “when does it end” constantly shifts. If you were to ask some opponents of emancipation if enough progress was had I’m sure they would say “yep, we freed them, we are done here”.
