parent have full control over their children lives unless those choices happen to be “harmful”.
Republican claim allowing transgender medical choices is child abuse.
and Democrat claim allowing un vaccinated s a public health issue.
which would allow the state to override the parental choice.

well if I was a religious fundamentalist that view woman as subservient to their husband I wouldn’t want a school teaching them about woman suffrage.
mind you at that point I just wouldn’t let me children go to school like Amish.
Probably a ranking is in order
(1) parents - this should not be changed.
(2) parental choice as to who gets to influence their children
(3) some portion of society - government employees, religious figures, etc because the children shouldn’t be isolated to the point where they have no interaction with societal factors

but issue arise when the government feel the parent are being harmful to the well being of the child.

Transgender people exist, and should be treated with respect like everyone else.
if you issue basic morality being taught in school, don’t send your children to a public school.
Pretty much anyone who has ever worked in CPS would strongly disagree, takes a awful lot of harm for the government to care.
