Elements of their culture are holding them back from first world status.
At best, they’re second world. Equivalent to the Soviet block from an economic and cultural standpoint.
And what you said seems to be a common issue in second world and third world nations. Many of those countries are drop dead beautiful. Beautiful architecture, beautiful terrain, and rich histories. But the cultures of their people are so backwards and it holds them back.
It won’t happen here again since we hit 100 million mark for fully vaccinate with another 45 mill with first dose. Soon we will have half the pop fully vaccinate plus another 20 mill or so with anti-bodies.
Now having said that we do have hold outs which will continue causing problems. It won’t be too long before we reach her immunity.
Concern is mutation but so far Pfizer and Moderna is just as effective against them for now.
India has basically caught up with United states in giving out shots.
According to China…which I don’t believe anything they say are now vaccinated 6 million people a day.
there is something like 20 million or more doses sitting there going to waste?
Biden just implement a ban on travel to/from India. This is absolutely the right move. No way do we want any of that virus strain over here. Should have been done a week ago.

Thank Bill Gates and Covax for making sure big pharma didn’t have to give up their IP. I am not generally for seizing a drug companies intellectual property, but a global pandemic is not normal.

I believe there’s at least two cases with the double variant already spotted in the US.
Why the lack of a global vaccination strategy has the potential to cause an utter disaster.
As long as this thing is percolating somewhere, the potential exists for a variant or variants that are a) more serious and/or b) resistant to the vaccine.

Couldn’t we have just copied the smallpox eradication strategy? That worked really good.
Considering those there completely innocent of the evil that created this virus, the spread of it and having access to the vaccine, the pain, the suffering and the deaths…are truly a stain on humanity.
There is no such thing as a double variant, there are only variants.

Mandatory vaccination is not an option for this virus.
That’s what they’re calling it as shorthand…it’s a variant that has two mutations that had each been seen as a singleton in two other variants.
