Want me to upload a couple photos?? Kidding. I was Just remembering and thinking out loud thru my fingers in my (too?) descriptive post.
Yes, they have transitioned to distance learning and will get their credits. They will not hold commencement ceremony for those graduating however.
Many of my relatives have saunas including my parents.
When I moved to the sweltering heat of Texas, I still sought a house with a sauna!
Yeah, my daughter is graduating too. Sadly anticlimactic.
Wood. It must be wood. Preferably in a cedar shack.
Yooper? Me too. Near Houghton.
Mineâs not graduating yet. Couple more years to go, but I feel for all those seniors in HS and college who donât get the ceremony. Itâs a big let down for them.
In the big picture though, if we miss a few of these non essential things in order to keep this at bay, Iâm not going to complain. The world and our psyches will be fine if we miss some sports games and such. People need to refocus on the important things IMHO.
OMGâŚI was a Wildcat for 2.5 years in Marquette. I list it as the most fun during a 2.5 year period in my entire life. In fact, second place, isnât even close.
Some neighbors of mine moved to Houghton a few years back. Pretty town with lovely neighborhoods, they have loved it.

No I didnt know this, I must admit my knowledge of Finland is limited to the prominent Finnish ancestry in the upper peninsula of michigan where I grew up. My mother and her brothers and sisters are 100% finnish and they are all voracious readers as are their children.
Yooper? Me too. Near Houghton.
My parents are both Finnish but I was born and raised in the US.
JayJay:
They ask people to get the flu vaccine every damn year.
And hospitals are being overwhelmed because of the expoential spike of additional cases.
Medical facilities are sized to handle the seasonal outbreak of flu. Theyâre not sized to handle a disease 2-3x more contagious on top of their regular caseloadâŚincluding the extra equipment and supplies they need for a very contagious disease
Round and round we go on this one too.
With respect, I think you missed the point here. Bigly. Keeping flu patients out of the hospital frees up more beds for COVID. Itâs just basic math. Getting a flu shot helps everybody.
I got a shot and didnât get the flu. But then iâve only had the flu 3 times in nearly 67 years now.
No kidding? Me too.

In which Joe Pera, a middle school choir teacher, presents to viewers the importance of Northern Michigan geology, especially iron. Also copper, azurite, tourmaline, and Lake Superior agate.
Yes very soothing.
Sunovagun:
I took saunas in Russia â weird when you get gently whipped by a big burly guy with a bunch of freshly cut tree twigs before walking essentially naked thru snow to a literally ice cold swimming pool. Funny memories.
Good for you for trying. Did you enjoy it?
The switches are supposed to be birch, they get the blood flowing and helps you sweat out the toxins in your body.
Have to ask, does anyone ever have a heart attack when they hit that ice cold water?
Thatâs not what worries the guys.

Itâs an amazingly wholesome and feel-good show from Adult Swim. The second season just finished. All of it is great.
