The one thing I will say, is that when I lived on base housing, I didn’t even blink when my children would say they were going to walk to a friend’s house and come home after dark. But my friends living just in the nearest town didn’t think it was safe enough to allow their children the same freedom.
The US military is a microcosm of American society, albeit the best aspects of it.
