In case you missed it, Dem's voted to keep the shutdown going . . .

Oh you didn’t hear about the vote in the mainstream media? Really . . . I wonder why that is. Republican’s in the house got a bill to the floor on January 14th, that would have extended the CR that expired in December to February 28th. This would have applied to all the agencies shut down at the current time. Get the federal workers paid, and keep the Government running for a month while negotitation are held. NO wall funding in this bill at all! Here is the entire text of the bill:

[H.J. Res. 28 Introduced in House (IH)]

116th CONGRESS
1st Session
H. J. RES. 28

Making further continuing appropriations for fiscal year 2019, and for
other purposes.

                IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

                        January 14, 2019

Mrs. Lowey submitted the following joint resolution; which was referred
to the Committee on Appropriations

                        JOINT RESOLUTION

Making further continuing appropriations for fiscal year 2019, and for
other purposes.

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United

States of America in Congress assembled, That the Continuing
Appropriations Act, 2019 (division C of Public Law 115-245) is further
amended by striking the date specified in section 105(3) and inserting
February 28, 2019''. This joint resolution may be cited as the Further Additional
Continuing Appropriations Act, 2019’'.

Now what do you think the vote was to fund the government for a month and a half with NO wall. You know get the government workers PAID who are working and have been working, and get the rest back to work . . .

H J RES 28 YEA-AND-NAY 17-Jan-2019 12:49 PM
QUESTION: On Motion to Recommit with Instructions
BILL TITLE: Making further continuing appropriations for fiscal year 2019, and for other purposes

YEAS NAYS PRES NV
DEMOCRATIC 6 222 6
REPUBLICAN 189 10
INDEPENDENT
TOTALS 195 222 16

That’s right a grand total of 6 democrat house members voted to open the govnerment without a wal. SIX!

Why hasn’t the left wing media reported that every republican voted to open the govenment for another month while nogotiations take place?

http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2019/roll043.xml

Now I want any of you libs to tell me WHY all but 6 dem’s in the house voted to keep the government closed? Is it because it was written and introduced by a republican? Are the Dem’s in the house insistant on holding the workers hostage? You would think every Dem would have voted for no wall funding and opening the government!

Dems just need to stop obstructing and give into Trump’s demands.

We don’t negotiate with hostage takers.

So your in agreement that they should have voted against opening the government til the end of February?

That’s right! Give the toddler everything when they throw their tantrum. Everything always works out in the end if you do that!

Snow, I think this is your answer. This is a vote on a motion to recommit with instructions. Not a vote on passage.

I think, I could be wrong, this was a vote to throw the bill back to committee.

There are quite a number of problems with your post.

  1. H.J. Res. 28 was not introduced by “Republicans”. It was introduced by Nita Lowey (D-NY), and has no co-sponsors at the moment.
  2. The vote you posted was not for passage - it was a vote on a Motion to Recommit with Instructions - which means a vote to send it back to committee to make further amendments.
  3. The actual vote on this bill will happen today - it would have passed by voice vote on the 17th, but Steve Scalise insisted on a recorded vote.

The Democrats are not going to set this precedent. They realize that It would mean that Trump would take every chance to shut down the government to get the things he wants. It is what children do.

Replace “Trump” with “Republicans”

Centrist dems are starting to crack… They said they were for border security and would work with Trump. That’s how dems took the house back.

Uh, that’s what the Democrats have been saying all along. Open the government with no conditions, and then we can talk about proposals. They won’t negotiate with hostage takers.

No cracks. They said they’ll negotiate about a wall after the government is reopened. That’s exactly what Pelosi has been saying all along.

The right wing media sounds desperate.

That’s exactly what it was.

The bill actually passed by roll call, but the Republicans insisted that a recorded vote be held, which was postponed to either today or tomorrow.

““Give Trump the money,” Rep. Collin Peterson, a centrist Democrat from a red Minnesota district, told a local radio station Tuesday. “I’d give him the whole thing…"

That’s funny… Why would they be desperate?

Because they’re losing.

Tossing ■■■■ at the wall and hoping it will stick…

Ok? How is this any different from their position all along? After all, the Democrats voted for $25 billion of border security last year and the GOP and Trump opposed it.

You will, either give him his wall or watch the federal leeches suffer.

Out of curiosity Snow, are you planning on correcting your headline at some point since your OP was not a vote on the bill’s passage, and thus your headline (and OP in general) are WILDLY inaccurate.
