I just thought I should share this story. I’ll make it short and sweet.

When I was in my early 20s I went to Bermuda several times in the early 90s. Obviously as a white male I was a minority in Bermuda. The people there treated us so well that me being white was insignificant. We made friends almost immediately and my experience there is completely different than here in the states. No tension, no nothing. I would live there if I could afford it. I don’t care that the population is 95% black. Might as well have been 95% white, I wouldn’t know the difference.

Good story. It reminds me of where I work right now. Very diverse. Many West African immigrants, Indians, Arabs you name it. Not a hint of racial tension. I think most of the country is just like this. Newsworld is doing everything they can to stir up racial tension.

Well since you mention it, Bermuda is about 50% black, 30% White, 10-12% “Mixed Race” and the rest “other”.

Well, I am talking about early 90s. I didn’t see any white people that weren’t on vacation. Maybe they were there, but I had no interactions with them.

You must have just missed them somehow. As a British Possession the Island has always had a large white population since it’s founding.

I am a successful business owner, with 5 beautiful, smart and successful sons. I have 10 healthy grands, the first in her 3rd year of college.

I have so many blessings, which I have stated here numerous times over the 20+ years that I’ve been posting here.

Well…that explains why you’re exhausted but if things are going this well, why are you tired of being black?

I have to “armour up” everyday for an additional “reason” that you don’t/have too/never even thought about…And a bitch is TIRED!

Suffice to say that I’ve done everything that folks like you/society told me to do…

And I or one of my sons or grandkids could still get killed while jogging, driving, sleeping in our beds…
Because some of my brothers and sisters of the “lighter nation”, “SEE” color and judge, treat differently and sometimes kill…because of what they “see”.

I watched the riots at the capitol…

I also Saw the “clearing” of a peaceful protest at Lafayette Park for a “photo op”)…

And don’t get me wrong…I LOVE cops! Many “helped” me through my divorces (great guys…Troubled but talented…) Two of my sons almost became cops!

However…I saw the different reactions from law and order (taking selfies with RIOTERS/INSURRECTIONISTS/TERRORIST)

Maybe about 18 years ago, not long after Amadou Diallo was killed for showing his wallet…

A white man was shooting at cops in an “F” train station in NYC.

Guess what?

He was NOT shot or killed! Cops never fired a shot in defense! He was brought into custody and taken for mental health “evaluation”.

Fast Forward…
Dylan Roof…
He killed churchgoers attending a prayer meeting…

He got a meal from Burger King provided by the local law enforcement officers.

You wanna tell me with a straight face that if a mentally ill black man had lost his mind and gone shot and KILLED a bunch of white members of the “First Baptist Church” somewhere…

If you TRULY believe if he HADN’T been Shot on the SPOT… the cops would have gotten him Burger King?

Then there is absolutely NO reason for us to engage.

People do not understand that by in large they are the wealthy that Christ spoke of, who proverbially may have a harder time entering the Kingdom than a camel could passing through the eye of a needle. This is because even “poor” Americans often have enough to trust in their wealth and to shield their eyes from a more profound poverty.

Americans are by in large fabulously wealthy in terms of human experience. Our government even stopped tracking hunger among our “poor” some years ago and started tracking food insecurity instead. By in large what we see in this country is various ranks of people who would be considered rich in any other era fussing with those who have more than they.

As for my own response, years before I knew much about famous Greeks, I phrased my four questions that, depending on which you might ask, let you know where you really stand.

The very destitute, the poorest of the poor, ask “How shall we eat?”

Those better established but still somewhat poor (what our government called food insecure) ask “When shall we eat?”

Above them they ask “What shall we eat?”

And the rich ask “Where shall we eat?”

Above that last question it’s all merely bickering about stars on a review.
