I’m all for spending money to solve this issue. What I oppose is a stupid, wasteful wall that is so easily defeated, when we have the tech to actually secure the border, with proper funding.
It will do nothing but waste tens of billions…I repeat TENS OF BILLIONS…of taxpayer dollars on something easily defeated. There are actual solutions here. An absurd wall is not one of them. Unless of course your goal here is to have some symbolic structure that makes you feeeeeeeel better. Is that what you’re angling for? Want to spend a bunch of my money and your money to take care of your feels?
actually it does because when they take the kids they sometimes put them in quailifed foster homes till the parents get dealt with.
But lets ignore that for a second and speak about how Trump is on the defensive here and it doesnt look good for him. Saying : “they all did it” isnt going to fly on this one. Trump changed the policy to zero tolerance and is ripping kids from their parents. Even the weekly standard can see that Trump is in trouble on this one.

I’m in the 21st century and I know a great deal about how to secure borders and perimeters.
It cannot be done effectively without either a huge number of personnel or a combination of personnel and physical barriers.
Technology will only tell you that they are coming or that they are here, it won’t interdict them.
To even begin to secure the border will require physical barriers, tech, and boots on the ground.

Don’t commit an offense for which you can be arrested and your kids will not have to deal with the cost of your decisions.
