No I haven’t.

It’s a rather dated article, but do the residents fit this description?

Close enough. More dairy farms than mines though, and a lot of support for Trump.

lindsey will be alright.

Still not exactly sure how I feel about that.

I think I get where Graham was going. And it’s not racist.

However the way he worded it was pretty stupid.

Rural America is increasingly red because they identified with the party that looks like their town/city.

It’s no coincidence that blue areas are also the most diverse.

Damn…how can you let your sheople trough twist his meaning of going anywhere in the state…from politically…to literally? You’re doing exactly what your shepherd desire…you eat, regurgibleet in your little circle…and tomorrow…repeat.

Agreed. It was sheople food…Graham man baaa, baaa, baaad. :sunglasses:

And, if they don’t vote for him they ain’t black. That is because blacks aren’t diverse like latinos. Also, poor kids are as bright as white kids. Etc etc etc.

I am really hoping that Graham loses his Senate race.

That looks like their town or city?

It’s more complicated than that:

With 1 in 1000 African Americans dying of Covid, his words are utterly false. Trump’s America is not a safe place. The Infodemic: 1 in 1,000 Black Americans Have Died in the Covid-19 Pandemic

Do you think Covid is racist?

  • 1 in 1,020 Black Americans has died (or 97.9 deaths per 100,000)
  • 1 in 1,220 Indigenous Americans has died (or 81.9 deaths per 100,000)
  • 1 in 1,400 Pacific Islander Americans has died (or 71.5 deaths per 100,000)
  • 1 in 1,540 Latino Americans has died (or 64.7 deaths per 100,000)
  • 1 in 2,150 White Americans has died (or 46.6 deaths per 100,000)
  • 1 in 2,470 Asian Americans has died (or 40.4 deaths per 100,000)

It pretty much kills indiscriminately.

No Covid is not racist. There are systematic reasons why our African-American population is being harder targeted by Covid. The same reasons are true why more African-American mothers die in childbirth. There are decades and decades of disparities in education, health resources, housing, stress factors and other issues that effect ones health.

I’m sorry, but some of the wording of this article is ridiculous.

“Black Americans are more likely to be considered essential workers?”

Huh?! There aren’t any white health care workers? Sanitation workers? Law enforcement officers?

Hiding at home on furlough is supposed to protect one from COVID 19? Incidentally the few I know who voluntarily accepted furlough were white. The nonwhite employees weren’t forced to come into work.

The article did reasonably state, though, that conditions like heart disease left black Americans more vulnerable to this virus. Here’s another that weakens the immune response and dominates among nonwhite and mixed race Americans:

https://www.diabetes.org/resources/statistics/statistics-about-diabetes#:~:text=The%20rates%20of%20diagnosed%20diabetes%20in%20adults%20by,non-Hispanic%20blacks%205%2014.7%25%20of%20American%20Indians%2FAlaskan%20Natives

How exactly does the ethnic breakdown of diabetes in the U S correlate to anything Donald Trump, who, as just proved is no spring chicken, no skinny Minnie and just as likely to test positive?

Red hat?

That would be quite a thing, wouldn’t it?

1 in every 1,000 American Americans who was alive this past New Years Eve has died from Covid. That is horrifying. That is just a fact.

What have any disparities in health care to do with factors like obesity? Sedentary life style? Family history?

There are some, like actress Viola Davis, who modify their choices based on family, yet end up borderline diabetic:

Why do some place so much access to a doctor and no emphasis at all on genetics and lifestyle choices?

Blaming the victims is a great look. Why as a nation can we not mourn theses terrible loses? These people would still be alive if Covid didn’t rage through our country.

Blaming the victims, hmm…

Diabetes II running in families is blaming the victims? Sedentary lifestyle, well, yeah, there are other choices, like walking. Smoking, hmm, let’s see who chooses that more often:

Tends to be more frequent in low income households:

https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/disparities/low-ses/index.htm

So yeah, other than family inheritance, the choices one makes in how they live their lives can make or break. How is it denying all responsibility for choices made helps anyone to improve their lives and lessen their COVID 19 risk?
