I have worked the 80+ hours a week.
Then I learned how to do something where I could work 40+, write my own schedule, and still make a decent living. All of this w/out a college education.
Typical Republican, thinking having some money equates to “making it”.

You need to find this out for yourself.
You may have to actually be able to talk to people though.
Good luck.
I’m in a similar situation myself although I am now also working on getting a degree, but that’s for my backup plan if things continue to go south in my current industry.

He didn’t say black people are denied civil rights. You put that word in his mouth.

I have thought about getting a degree as well. I am few credits shy of an AA.
Hopefully, I have about 10-12 years left of working…although I may want to get into more of a consulting position in my current industry…part time. That is if my plan works out…we shall see!
Good luck. I certainly got lucky with my current job. My previous job doesn’t pay what it used to anymore and I wasn’t qualified for the job I applied for. Thankfully though the company liked me enough they created a position for me and hired me on a few months after I interviewed for that one. Better hours, better pay, and I actually like what I’m doing now. I’m also the only person in my company that has my job. Couldn’t be happier with how things worked out. But like you said, I had to actually talk to people to get to where I’m at now.

You made the claim, it’s’ up to you to support it.
I talk to “black people” on nearly a daily basis and I have yet to have one of them whine about the lack of civil rights.
Now support your claim if you can or simply admit you cannot.
What civil rights are blacks denied in the US?
Oh no, not individual effort paying off, that can’t be true in the US!

Have you actually talked to them, or at them?
Better yet, have your actually listened?
To and with.
Now make your case if you can.
What civil rights are blacks denied in the US? Be specific.

So you have talked to them about civil rights?
Being pulled over for no reason.
Being followed by security in stores when they are shopping.
That never came up?
We talk about pretty much everything.
White people get pulled over for “no reason” as well.
White people “get followed” when shopping as well.
What civil rights are blacks denied in the US? Be specific.

Good Gawd…you expect me to believe that?
Nice try!
No, I don’t expect you to accept reality it would crush your whole world to do so.
Now specifically what civil rights are blacks denied in the US?

Sorry man, but it is obvious you have not had a meaningful conversation with people of color.
Besides my personal experience, there is a plethora of documentaries, books, blogs, movies, podcasts etc…that back up what I have stated.
Again, enjoy your fantasy.

My entire family is “people of color”, your facts are supported only by your shared bias.
One more time. Specifically what civil rights are blacks denied?

I do dislike welfare. I dislike how easily it is taken advantage of.

Unless you are in Washington. They are angling for a 32 hour work week. There lives must be so hard having to pull a 40 hour week.
