If you do not trust the FBI where do you turn?

Any honest liberal in this group knows that the FBI has displayed a consistent hostility to social justice groups throughout its history. In the past two years, our esteemed host has extensively documented the FBI’s corruption regarding right wing populist politicians.

You suggest that the FBI has a role in counterintelligence. What role? President Trump was offered a clear choice in Helsinki regarding whether he would rely on Vladimir Putin as a source for counter-intelligence or the FBI and the President told the entire world that the KGB’s information is more credible.

Conservatives know that the FBI is hostile to them. Liberals know the FBI is hostile to them and the President, who can access much more data than you or I, trusts the KGB more than the FBI. Sure the FBI claims to be premiere in counterintelligence, but look at their performance!

I am suggesting that they be disbanded because they have outlived their usefulness as an effective agency of law enforcement and because any effort to reduce the size (and cost) of government requires meaningful action.

The clear evidence that the FBI spent years attacking the Civil Rights and anti-Vietnam War movement.

The last two years of documentation by our esteemed host of the FBI’s conspiracy against Trump. To laugh at that skirts close to a TOS violation perhaps.

The repeated demonstrations that the President sees no value in the FBI’s efforts.

What percentage of people who work for the FBi are liberal?

Less than 50 based on what I have heard.

I don’t know any FBI agents personally. However my brother is a recently retired chief of police in a fairly large metropolitan area. In his job he often worked alongside scores of FBI agents. His report is that they tend to be disproportionately Republican. During the Obama years, the FBI culture was one where agents often made disparaging comments to their co-workers about Barack and Michelle Obama. At least that was what my brother observed directly. It would make sense that they lean to the right. A lot of people attracted to careers in law enforcement do.

I realize that my brother’s report is anecdotal evidence and possibly not statistically accurate. I would welcome more facts. I wonder if the OP and BillBrown’s opinions are informed by either more accurate stats or more extensive first hand experience with FBI agents. I suspect not.

You are personalizing the issue rather than dealing with the facts. You are arguing with our esteemed host’s intentions but that is no basis for refutation. To refute you would have to refute the facts. When you do that, assuming you can, you will have an argument worth attending to.

Wrong. The onus is on the prosecution to prove the allegations, innocent until proven guilty and all that. If there was evidence of the things you mentioned it would be the biggest law enforcement scandal in American history. And there WOULD be charges.

And yet Strzok was given the instrumental position in charge of the Hillary and Trump campaign investigations. And neither McCabe nor Comey saw anything wrong with that.
