That’s why he didn’t plead either. Public elocution.

ETA: allocution ■■■■■■■ autocorrect

I still can’t get over that their plan is to separate democracy from republic. That’s an insult to the average voter and average voters are window-licking morons.

What was the plea deal he was offered?

No way to know, plea deals negotiations are generally confidential.

But I can pretty much guarantee he was offered one.

Yes…your/libs democracy.

Really? How can you guarantee that? You can’t compare this case to a case where the attempt of the DA is not to affect the next election.

And you cannot guarantee one was not offered so its a meaningless point.

One who claims the existence of something should be able to prove it…especially if they provide a guarantee…of some sort.

Even accepting the “this is all political” arglye-bargle, a guilty plea is just as good as a conviction at trial, politically. Maybe even better, as Trump wouldn’t be able to keep denying everything outright.

May be first time to also jail innocent person(s) that was not accused or convicted of anything. The secret service agent(s) assigned to protect him.

Biden didn’t campaign in 2020. That didn’t stop him moving in to the WH.

Democracy and republic are already separate. That’s why there are two different words.

Why would he campaign in Texas or Florida? Those are layups. He needs to be in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania to win and all of those states have Dem Governors.

Was he telling the truth or was Trump?

Because if Trump was telling the truth, those 35k monthly checks were a retainer and it would be impossible to steal that money since it was owed him.

OTOH, if those checks were to pay Cohen back for money he had spent on Daniels and some polling manipulation plussed up, then Cohen’s account of falsifying how much he initially spent amounts to stealing money from Trump. But that’s not what Trump and his attorneys said, they said this was all legal retainer payments.

You can’t call him a thief without confessing that Trump was indeed guilty of the crimes he was accused of.

Which is it?

great point.

I just find it bizarre, if Trump’s argument is that you cannot trust Cohen and the proof is that Cohen confessed to stealing from him that is ALSO confessing that the retainer excuse was a lie. You can’t have it both ways.

Yep.

Come on he stole money from the polling pot. Not from the hush money pot. You are better then that. Two totally different pots of money.

Not surprising You would think so.

Well, how do you see it?

Trump claimed the payments to Cohen were retainers and legal fees. If they were, how could Cohen steal that money? It was paid to him for his services.
