If this isn't Open Borders what is?

I didn’t say it did. That’s why there’s a space between my statements.

Is that what Article 31 says or is there a bit more to it?

Now, separate question: Do they meet the Convention’s definition of refugee?

Whether or not a refugee meets the definition is a question of fact unique to each individual case, to be determined by the immigration court.

None of that changes the fact that the process is the same in all signatory countries.

There’s another way to do it. The correct answer is “No, they don’t.”

You didn’t answer my question about Article 31.

Because it’s irrelevant to my point. I know the answer you want me to give.

I don’t want you to give me any answer but the truth.

How is it irrelevant?

Because my point is limited to what I actually posted:

I have no interest in arguing about whether or not Article 31 applies to the asylum seekers in the US, or whether any refugees are “legitimate.”

I understand.

And every country has the right and obligation to protect its sovereignty as it deems fit. Asylum is narrowly defined and for good reason, and a country has every right and obligation to determine if the system is being abused as is clearly the case with the current situation. We all know that these are largely economic migrants and not legitimate asylum claims:

So, at these “open” borders, people are being stopped…is there a new definition for “open”?

Also, is there any chance, with FOXNews, RW Pundits and Republicans Pols hyping the myth that the borders are open, is that encouraging more to come?

Of coourse, many of the issues in Central America were caused by Reagan stomping out those evil mechanics of free health care, and free education…aka SOCIALISM!!!

Yet another failure by St. Ronnie.

What did he say, “Libs know so much that isn’t true” or something like that?

I seem to remember reading that many Latin American nations had some severe issues long before Reagan showed up.

We can argue that he didn’t help matters or made things worse in some circumstances.

But the truth is that most of Latin America has been a mess for over a century now. And most of it is due to their own internal problems.

It would have been nice had they learned from the US and Canadian example of how former colonial nations can succeed and thrive. But they didn’t. That isn’t our fault.

They are not walking here. What’s going on is big business, these people are paying money in order to get the ride to our border, and Joe Biden and the Dems are complicit in helping these human smugglers make money:

“They run it like a business,” said Cardinal Brown, which means “finding more patrons and looking for efficiencies.” Migrants can pay thousands of dollars for the journey to the United States and human smugglers have to pay off drug cartels to move people through parts of Mexico.

“This is a money-making operation and they have to pay close attention to who has paid,” she said. “This may be a new way to keep track.”

The thing is that these phony asylum seekers are not going to pay thousands of dollars for this ride if they don’t think there’s a good chance they are going to get in. That’s why they are coming in droves now that Trump is gone and Biden is here. I was watching someone who was interviewing a few of these phony asylum seekers and they freely admitted it was about a better life, opportunity, and some even talked about America providing a free education for their children!

Compared to how other countries protect their borders, their laws on immigration, and how they enforce their immigration laws, that’s how many view it. Nonetheless here’s some more of what’s going on:

There is no better way to weaken, destroy and bring to its knees a prosperous and freedom loving country than by flooding it with the poverty stricken, poorly educated, low skilled, disease carrying, disabled and criminal populations of other countries.

The article points out “It’s insane,” said an agent attending to a group of 13 Brazilian migrants apprehended Tuesday near a 100-foot gap in the fence in Otay Mesa, Ca. “The project is ¾ done. At least, they should be allowed to tie together the primary fence. Otherwise, we’re trying to catch these people in the worst possible place. It’s just sucking our manpower.”

Yes, it is “insane”. Why has the Biden Administration stopped an almost completed project other than to allow a continues flow of other countries poverty stricken to flood into our country?

Does our Constitution not command our federal government to protect the United States against “invasions”?

There seems to be something notoriously evil afoot.

How else to get their free passes?

It’s not completely open. It were, would human traffickers be forced to throw babies over the wall?

And then bussed to wherever they want to go

SEE: McCaughey: Biden’s border policy a lesson in COVID hypocrisy

But when Walensky was asked about visiting grandchildren, she said no, unless the kids are local. Even vaccinated people must avoid traveling.

“Every time there’s a surge in travel, we have a surge in cases in this country.”

The Biden administration is making one exception. It’s OK to cross the Rio Grande River and enter the U.S. illegally. Even if you have COVID-19, you can get on a bus in a Texas border town and travel to any part of the U.S.

On the travel question, the double standard is mind-boggling. It’s no to Grandma, but OK for illegal immigrants.

The article goes on to point out of the migrants tested last month, “over 6% tested positive” and that “Six percent sounds small, but 6% of 1 million migrants adds up to 60,000 — a steady stream of spreaders being knowingly dispersed throughout the nation.”
