If This Is A War Then Declare The Draft

Once again it is the poor and middle class who will be fighting this war, with jobs lost, wages lost, and on the ground working the essential jobs - grocery store workers, nurses, package handlers, drivers, etc.

If this is a war, then declare the “draft”. Pay people to stay at home. We pay soldiers to fight wars. If we are ordered to not work, and if this is a war, then surely we should get paid to fight it.

That was 30 seconds wasted.

Actually it was a reasonable analogy, and a good idea to encourage the behaviors needed to win the fight.

You talk like this US is a first world country. We can’t afford to pay our citizens to stay off the streets.

Be more efficient. Read faster.

Good metaphor.
BTW, I prefer Ruthie Foster’s version of War Pigs to the Black Sabbath original.

“Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role for the poor”

No one. I do and so do others.

Yep - I understood the point perfectly.

If I had to guess, pretty much everyone understands what his point is.

Where were you tripped up? We can help…

I mean, I thought it was as simple as 2+2=4

Myth.

The people on the front lines of this war aren’t poor, they are highly paid medical professionals.

No it wasn’t. It was a stupid analogy.
