They did the same here. I warned a republican state congressman friend of mine about the implications of his yes vote to raise the tax. He told me it was better to resurface a road as opposed to grading and resurfacing, and it was critical to get the funds in play before they had to do the latter everywhere. I told him that they should get the corruption out first and then, if needed I would support the tax. Otherwise, it’s just something your opponent is going to hammer you with come re-election time.
