Russian aggression towards Ukraine has nothing to do with me. Why would I have a “stance” on it?

How many US citizens who need it can we help with that $113B?

How about Soviet intervention in North Korea, Cuba, Afghanistan, Indochina, parts of Africa…

Did you have the same view that those had nothing to do with you?

I am not Korean, Cuban, Afghan, Vietnamese or African either.

Did the US not also intervene in every one of those places?

Exactly!

Right- so did you hold the same view as you hold now that those places have nothing to do with you and you didn’t oppose Russia back then?

Didn’t I?

There was a time in my life I just wanted to fight. Shoot people in the face. Didn’t matter much where they were from.

I got better.

OK so would you say it was a mistake to oppose Russia back then?

And when did you change to no longer want to oppose Russia?

Again, odd questions, given what I said.

What do you need to hear?

It sounds like you opposed Russia during the Cold War (but maybe view that as a mistake?). And all I’m wondering is when that changed?

Did I?

There was a time in my life I just wanted to fight. Shoot people in the face. Didn’t matter much where they were from.

I got better.

When?

Dude this isn’t rocket science. When the Soviet Union crumbled? During Yeltsin’s time, somewhere in the last few years?

When the itch was scratched.

Here is a BBC video from 2014 that includes an admission from a protestor gunman that he fired on police.

As noted in an earlier post, Reuters found massive flaws in the government’s case against police soon after the shooting.

For the US, “defending democracy” really means “installing compliant puppet regimes”.

What you fail to comprehend is that Russia is thwarting US aggression.

Do you honestly not see the negative global impact of Putin having that much power at his disposal?
He would be the man the US would be doing business with.
Sound good to you…his mo is invading countries, threatening nuclear war and being pals with China, Iran and North Korea.
Still sound ok
Putin knows the US and Nato are funding this war. No matter how apathetic you are he still hates the US.
That won’t change so carry on with your lah de dah, nothing to see here false affectation.
Russia still won’t be friends with you.
China is looking from afar to see who will prevail, are you sure you want it to be Russia?

What’s he going to do about it?

About what? You can see how he operates can’t you.
I love (and agree) with the rationale that no US soldier is worth losing their lives over this war, but somehow its ok for young Russian men to for no logical reason.

Why are you demanding American participant in EU expansionism?

Is it out of Europeans sense of entitlement?

Being mad at the US. Come on man.

How is he going to “operate” against the US?

How or when did Europe demand expansion?
And why do you have such a problem with countries wanting to live together in peace.
But have no problem with their neighbour bombing and killing a nation to bits.
Russia invaded Ukraine one day, how is it a European war.
Don’t give me geography, Europe has existed for centuries without any affiliation to Ukraine.
It boils down to this: do you think Ukraine deserve to decide their own government or not?
This is what they want irrespective of Europe.
On one hand Eu is so lame and dependent on the US and on the other is an expansionist war mongering place.
Will you please make up your mind.
The EU is no more involved than the US.
Maybe if you want to fight a proxy war with Russia, leave Europe out of it and thanks.
