If it should be free, then

The problem here is that nothing in life is free, there is always a cost. Which brings us to one of the core differences between conservatives and liberals. Conservatives believe if you want it you should pay for it yourself. Liberals believe if you want it someone else should pay for it

So all those people will just do nothing and have no money? This is the same Republican bull I have heard my whole life, and I no longer believe it. You people are selling out your own country for temporary money.

There’s no such thing as a free lunch, buddy.

Talking point noted. You do not know any liberals or conservatives for that matter. Some of the greediest and laziest people i have met are conservatives. Some of the hardest working are conservatives. The same goes for Liberals.

“Conservatives” here in the US. in general, have looted the public treasury and voted themselves money for the last 40 years. They do not believe in paying for anything.

By borrowing money, they are destroying the value of your time. You will never have the purchasing power you once did and you will have to work many more hours due to those tax cuts. One of the main drivers that have Gen Z and Millennials working less is their realization that they don’t make what their Boomer parents made in money and it’s due to the government printing money.

yes, we agree the question is will those that support for free actually perform for free

Then it’s not free.

Okay then if you want to be pedantic, in the UK you pay nothing at point of service and there is no payment due for any medical services performed by a doctor or hospital.

So if you make 50,000/yr ($65,281 US), you pay about 4,800 ($6,266) per year for National Health. Sounds like a good deal to me.

since there are so many European countries that have national health insurance and so many people that believe in one payer systems also believe in open boarders.

how about we let the people that believe in free stuff go to a country that offers free stuff and let those that believe in markets stay here.

Freebies are everywhere it would only seem fair that markets exist somewhere.

Ah, the old “love it or leave it” from 2006.

You missed my topic sentence. That is the main point I was making.

It’s not pedantic. You either pay when ( … actually IF … ) you need it, or you pay day after day via taxes.

It’s NOT free.

Exactly - i dont really pay any more in my health insurance premiums than I did In NI
tax.

not at all, just about freedom to choose. those that believe in socialism have many choices.

those that believe in freedom have only one.

you do believe in choice after all.

You knew exactly what I meant.

But take it up with the myriad of organizations as well as the UK government who refer to it as free at point of service or delivery.

For ■■■■■ sake, why does a discussion on this forum always seem to come down to an attempt at scoring points by word parsing.

Like so many things that the Gen Z and the Millennials believe, they are just wrong.
If it was an issue of the govt printing money, then the currency would be worth less and they would be making the same dollars or more than the baby boomers. They are not. The reason they are not making the money that the baby boomers made is because they have an entitlement mentality and they, as a group, do not have the work ethic.

You might want to go back to the 60s for that quote.

Mostly because everything the left does is to try to implement new programs by selling them as something that they are not. Words have meanings. When Obama said every family would reduce their expenditures by 2500 a year and be able to keep their doctor, those words meant something. He lied.

And you know exactly what I meant.

And I say that “what you meant” is naive. And it’s the core problem with our government’s out-of-control spending.

Yes, Trump works for $1 in salary per year. And he’s billed the American taxpayer for over $100 million to play golf.

As you say, nothing’s free.
