If gender norms are completely arbitrary why do trans people feel compelled to comply with them?

Yeah, basically.
We’ve got a long way to go to understand how and why brains work the way they do.

Why do you care if they feel they must medically alter themselves to express themselves?

And who are you to say what others have “need” or “no need” to do to fully express themselves?

Same here.

I wanted to become Hot Rod.

By the way, it’s still crazy to me that no male porn actor ever used the name “Rodimus Prime.” That would be my porn career name for sure.

Children.

Adults? Absolutely nothing. They can do what ever they want. I have issue with laws forcing me to do something. I have issue with playing along with a delusion and forcing me to acknowledge it as fact.

But if “feeling” like a man or a woman is a completely arbitrary thing, all we are arguing is why go through extensive surgery and medications (with potential harmful side effects) for something psychological? Especially for those who are still teenagers.

If this was a serious question, you could start with asking medical professionals who have studied this and not a bunch of goons like us on an anonymous message board.

How does a “medical professional” know what a tranny feels like?

Ask one.

You said it.

I did.

How does a boy know what it feels like to be a girl?

Here’s the thing about these “medical professionals”. They are nothing more than human beings just like us. They are by no means infallible and are driven by their own biases and presuppositions and like other professionals can be driven by dollar signs. Furthermore, I personally don’t hold the fields of psychology or psychiatry in the same regard as other fields of medicine.

He can’t, it’s not possible.

It is far from an exact science, but hey there’s a lot of money to be made.

Zach had recently declared himself a girl, and his mother was 100 percent on board—new name, pronouns, dresses. His father wasn’t going along with it.

I reviewed the records from Zach’s recent psychiatric hospitalization. Staff listed gender dysphoria as one of his diagnoses and consistently used his girl’s name and female pronouns, but the reasoning for those clinical decisions was absent. The hospital records indicated Zach heard voices and saw “ghosts.” I searched for more information about the voices and the ghosts but found none.

Was it possible no one had asked? Psychotic symptoms such as auditory or visual hallucinations always warrant further questions. An obvious one: what did the voices say? Was Zach hearing voices telling him he’s a girl?

These were questions that demanded attention from his clinicians prior to affirming a new identity. Maybe Zach’s gender dysphoria was related to his disordered thinking and hallucinations. Perhaps instead of lip gloss he needed Risperdal (anti-psychotic medication).

As I suspected it wasn’t a serious question.

Sex is the natal biological state of the person and is denoted by the terms male and female, man and woman, boy and girl.

Gender is how much one’s preferred expression of one’s personality conforms to the culturally constructed gamut of expression typical of males or females within one’s culture. It should really be distinguished from sex by using the age-old terms for gender: masculine, feminine and neuter.

A transgender person is a culturally anomolous mix of sex and gender. An unusually masculine female, or an unusually feminine male.

It’s really pathetic that those on the Left can’t see the hypocrisy in this. First off, they tell us that “gender” is completely arbitrary and not associated with biological sex UNTIL a person defines themselves as “trans” and then like magic gender suddenly means something definitive!

Second thing, here’s a question. For what other psychological issue do doctors recommend life and biological altering surgery?

Also if these biological men who are pretending to be women, are the men that date them gay or straight?
Should a bio man who pretends to be a woman be upfront about it in the dating scene?
As a straight man, would you date a bio man pretending to be a woman? if not, why?

I had a married friend in his 60’s turn tranny recently. The first question everyone asked was if that made his wife a lesbian.

Not if they want a much deserved kick in the teeth later on that night. :person_shrugging:

Hell no. Liars and frauds have always been a turnoff for me. Plus, we’re talking about a dude posing as a woman. :face_vomiting:
