This couldnt have anything to do with that, could it?
“California, Texas, and Florida have the highest numbers of unauthorized immigrants, followed by New York, New Jersey, and Illinois. These six states account for a significant portion of the total unauthorized immigrant“
Hawaii, California, Massachusetts, Washington, New York
The most unaffordable states for the middle class include Hawaii, California, Massachusetts, and New York, primarily due to high housing costs and overall cost of living. These states require a significantly higher income to maintain a middle-class lifestyle compared to the national average.
Some data for those that won’t look for it… Yeah, its ironic I am too lazy to make it pretty.

First off that doesn’t mean such states are more affordable for those in the middleclass, second those incomes are the product of the private sector and not from some government mandated minimum wage.
Whoosh - my point went right over your head. I talking about using these outliers to demonize all illegal immigrants as some sort of subhuman scum.
The issue of them being here illegally is not what I am discussing here.
Case in point is the ridiculous hoo hah before the election that illegal immigrants were eating the pets of Americans. Funny how that is no longer an issue. Its becsuse it served its purpose.
To your first point, it turns out that when you compare cost of living and median incomes Mass is among the most affordable. Ditto Rhode Island and Connecticut.
Second, who said anything about minimum wage policies or goverment-sector employment?
Well, they have more access to services. Higher levels of education. Better healthcare services, higher life expectancies, lower levels of obesity, fewer divorces. Lower rates of childhood poverty.
