I imagine the states that outlaw or limit abortions won’t call it first degree murder. But obviously killing a 9 month old child in the womb is murder. So, it will have to be worked out.

This is the sort of thing that reinforces my opinion that your posts contain too much stupidity.

Go pester someone else.

I don’t think any state wants to have the optics of putting a 16 year old girl in jail for having an abortion.

For rape and incest, I propose the following:

  • Tax-subsidized BC.
  • more pregnancy resource centers, more awareness about them. There is a Christian one in my town that provides financial assistance and social support, among many other things. Some even have a mentorship program.
  • Teach kids how to diffuse anger and other negative emotions- I recommend replacing detention with meditation or yoga classes, or at least providing that as an alternative.
  • Teach kids to respect themselves and other people.
  • Harsher penalties for rape, incest, and other forms of SA. Rape is just as heinous as murder, imo.
  • Morning after pill in rape kits
  • longer maternity and paternity leave. Give parents a chance to get their newborn kids into a sleep schedule and to adjust back to normal.

We can do all of this as a country and outlaw abortion. Abortion doesn’t solve anything and really, the reason for most abortions is mainly societal issues. There are conditions like placenta previa and ecclampsia that are more worrisome, but OB/GYNs will typically do an emergency C-section instead.

I don’t suggest that. But I think she needs to be guided down a better path.

Women who have gone through sexual assault of all degrees need social, emotional, and financial support, and therapy. Abortion wouldn’t solve anything. I feel like when a woman is recommended an abortion for this reason, she is simply being shrugged off as an inconvenience. I don’t think that’s right.

Sure looks that way.

Why yours and not mine?

The abortion arguments in these cases seem more about using the tragedy of these circumstances as a rationalization for allowing the procedure in all instances, rather than actually caring about the girls and women affected.

Are deaths from Covid rare?

In the US the abortionist would be punished, not the mother. El Salvador is not relevant.

Abortion laws targeted those who performed abortion, not women. In fact, the states expressly treated women as the second “victim” of abortion; state courts expressly called the woman a second “victim.” Abortionists were the exclusive target of the law. . . If Roe was overturned today, abortion would be legal in at least 42-43 states tomorrow, and likely all 50 states, for the simple reason that nearly all of the state abortion prohibitions have been either repealed or are blocked by state versions of Roe adopted by state courts.

I’m not sure I follow this part here?

Baby steps. That’ll be the next thing in time.

Shouldn’t be baby steps.

If a wife contracts a killer to kill her husband, she is charged with murder along with the contract killer.

If a wife contracts a killer to kill her teenager, she is charged with murder along with the contract killer.

If a woman contracts a killer to kill her baby, she should be charged with murder along with the contract killer.

Exactly.

The fact that conservatives don’t want to punish the woman who authorizes the abortion tells me that they know it’s wrong to punish the woman for this choice.

In reality conservatives know that abortion must be legal to some extent. They just need the political outrage to keep their evangelical base.

Then just a few of you will be all thats needed to fund a woman in a pro-life state to go to a pro-abort state to have her business conducted. That’s good news for you… isn’t it?

I disagree.

The reason is they know if they espouse applying the same law to a wife that kills their husband, mother that kills a teenager, or mother that kills a baby that they would loose on the abortion issue at the ballot box and lose power.

Not punishing the contractor of a contract killing is about making illegal more palatable.

[Disclaimer: I have no problem with Roe being overturned and the decision returned to the States. However if the state makes abortion illegal and impose criminal penalties on the abortion provider the same penalties should be imposed on the abortion seeker. Fair is fair.]

There are multiple victims in an abortion. The mother is one of them. Neither the abortion doctor nor his clinic is one of those.
