any law enforcement technique can be abused, when it is used to go after non-criminals. That is no reason to abandon those techniques in the pursuit of criminals, only to be vigilant they aren’t abused and used against innocents.

It’s not a problem if they use it to find American criminals either.
What if they use it to keep track of those who stockpile what they feel is an excessive number of firearms? US citizens that have not yet broken any laws but fit certain profiles.
