Sorry, I might have mixed you up with another poster where we went down a path that ended at Paul McHugh.

Those are for when you know the gender of the person. They/them/their are normal established English when you don’t know the gender of the person to whom you are referring.

It’s trite to say it, but if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, nobody should be upset if you call it a duck.

Sorry about that.

When the mentally ill smear ■■■■ on the wall, you tell them to stop smearing ■■■■ on the wall. You don’t grab a scoop and join in on the fun.

ah ok yes i remember that exchange. It’s where you learned liberal Democrat McHugh is the University Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins.

Doesnt support leftist childhood genital mutilation on whim, so, “renegade” of course

if i’m referring to a person who i cant be sure is one of either male or female, i avoid using pronouns altogether. see? simple adjustment to a situation based on my living in actual reality and being respectful

dozens of pronouns and associated genders scrawled on a white board in some university or wherever not needed.

And silent.

I used to love high school pep rallies during school time.

Actually I liked any unstructured time during school.

Children need mental stimulation.

Just be polite and if they correct you switch to the appropriate pronouns.

Question to the OP…

At one point it was ok to call black people the N word… or call gay people the f word…

Was it “PC :poop:” when society stopped using those words to describe those people?

I think the issue is it comes across as pretentious. How would it sound to most people if they called me something completely normal like “sir” and I said “from here on out you will refer to me as El Presidente”?

lol at you pointing out his political ideology as if that means something

I call him renegade because he’s going against majority opinion in his profession.

That works to. Glad you can be respectful to people.

Agreed.

Are they asking you to call them El Presidente or by their preferred pronouns?

Why would it be pretentious?

It would be more like if a Robert wanted to go by Bob, because he hates Robert.

But Conservatives want to continually call him Robert. It’s disrespectful.

If someone asked you to call them “El Presidente” that would be pretentious, but thats not the situation here. When I was a teenager I had really long hair and was occasionally misgendered. Was I being pretentious to correct them? My mother was an alto and often got misgendered as a man on the phone. Was she being pretentious when she corrected the caller? Y’all are acting like misgendering is a new thing created by transgender people.

You’d sound just as pompous and psychotically violent as the violent trans in the Game Stop.

Welcome to the Internet.

This isn’t about lower viiced women or long haired men, but about canceling class for seminars about individuals like this one

and this one

If a man wants to dress up in women’s clothing like the Corporal Klinger character in MASH, live and let live, but do not pull students out of class for a lecture on why they need to call him Ms.

If such individuals really are such an issue to the school, include them in an online topic to cover for a short period of their day.
