Discrimination: Separating or segmenting people based on established criteria which we all do every day. Not derogatory.
Bigotry: Separating or segmenting people based on established criteria in a way which is unjustified or unfair. Derogatory?
(Also) Bigotry: Separating or segmenting people based on established criteria in a way which is unjustified or unfair and then treating them differently. Derogatory? Illegal?
I don’t know of lawsuits based on a person or company being a bigot. There have been plenty based on discrimination.
