To what do you attribute that breakdown of family?
BLM is a movement far beyond the organization. It has morphed into a movement primarily devoted to raising consciousness about systemic racism, and attempting to change that racism where it occurs. I am not Black, so canāt speak for BLM, but they will tell you that crime will never be eradicated in the Black community until underlying causes are addressed. Those underlying causes are becoming the focus of BLM.
Absolutely correct.
The critical race theory (CRT) movement is a collection of activists and scholars engaged in studying and transforming the relationship among race, racism, and power. The movement considers many of the same issues that conventional civil rights and ethnic studies discourses take up but places them in a broader perspective that includes economics, history, setting, group and self-interest, and emotions and the unconscious. Unlike traditional civil rights discourse, which stresses incrementalism and step-by-step progress, critical race theory questions the very foundations of the liberal order, including equality theory, legal reasoning, Enlightenment rationalism, and neutral principles of constitutional law.
Delgado, Richard. Critical Race Theory , Third Edition. NYU Press. Kindle Edition, p. 3.
I donāt like the words systemic racism as systemic is too often confused with systematic (an exercise of will) and racism is just too loaded. I prefer ācollective bias.ā If we agree bias exists, then we might agree bias can exist collectively.
Collective bias, when concentrated in positions of authority, becomes systemic. Whether cops, businesses, government, religion, military, etc. Itās a valid issue to be addressed.
Nice.
And if the bias doesnāt exist, we must fight against it still because it did exist and could again.

[/quote]The underlying causes do go back a few decades and continues to today, which is the breakdown of the family. Over 70% of black children born are to single parents. Over 50% of Latino children to single parents. Who a childās parents are and how they are raised will have the greatest impact on the type of person they become in life.

If BLMās direction was implemented in the black community, the problem of murder and violence would be exacerbated. They want to destroy the nuclear familyā¦which is the root cause of the problems in inner cities. Thereās no father present in the home. Almost every problem with in this group is a direct result of this fact. Thatās what needs to be addressed and BLM wants to exacerbate it even more. Itās right in the manifesto.

And policing continues to be reshaped before our very eyes. People are acting like the demands of the extremists are going to be implemented when we all know the final result will not be that, but rather something much more reasonable and effective.
In 5 years people will be looking back at 2019 as the good days of policing. All these protests are doing is ensuring that shootings and murders will skyrocket in the black communities. Not by police but by other blacks. Its already happening in the major cities as the police have shrunk back and stopped being proactive but this is only the tip of the iceberg.
Couple that with the devastating effects this is going to have the ranks of police. NYPD canāt process retirement request as fast as they are coming in. Minneapolis has a quarter of its force applying for PTSD disability retirements. Basically everyone who can get out is getting out. Which is going to leave behind a disgruntled bunch who are too far along to start over in a new career.
As to who is going to replace them? Recruiting has been a severe challenge for years now. When I started in 1996 300 people showed up for a test at my PD for 3 openings. When we tested last fall for 11 openings 30 people showed up. In any test you can wash out at least half as theyāll fail either the written, physical, or criminal background check (prior crimes or drug use). More will fail the character background check and psych test. Which leaves very few quality applicants and they are in demand at every dept they apply for. One girl we hired had got 4 job offers from area depts.
Its going to be even harder with all the turmoil as who in their right mind is going to want to be a cop in this environment and face the abuse cops are facing except the ones who shouldnāt be cops to begin with. We turn away a lot of questionable applicants who look good on paper til you get into the background. Like a guy we turned down named Damon. On paper he looked great, decent grades, had worked security jobs since high school, etc. In the background check though they discovered the following: 1) at age 17 he bought a used police car and re outfitted it as close to being an actual police car as possible, 2) he wore typical police supporter clothing everywhere, 3) contacts with neighbors and co-workers showed a guy who liked power and wanted authority over others, etc. In other words he fit the exact profile of every police impersonator you see on the news and is exactly the kind of guy we donāt want. But in the future heāll be all thats left so heāll be hired.
So your going to have massive carnage in black communities as they kill each other at greater rates than they do now and few good cops to respond.
Pure paranoia on display. People need to respect police. When that changes everything will change. Respect is earned. Earn the peopleās respect (widely) and they will support you more than you can imagine.
Yes sir, if thereās one thing criminals respect, itās the law and those that enforce it!! Police should be rearmed with Loli pops and balloons instead of guns and batons. Just hand those out whenever they observe someone committing a crime and give them a stern but respectful lecture on the harm their crime is doing to society. Why, if police would just begin doing this nation wide, in a few weeks weād have Libtopia!!
