Not sure the edits will be effective.

You can’t edit out those vacant eyes.

Viveck would be a major mistake. Nothing but a slick marketer and his world view is downright dangerous. he should be selling kitchen gadgets with Ron Popeel not anywhere near the WH.

They have to cut out all the times George helped him through the answer.

Cut to 15? I thought the whole thing was 15 min and will be cut from there.

Could be Vance, freshman Senator from Ohio. He is rumored to be on the short list.

I don’t trust him myself.

Can you give an example please.

there’s a bit of it here. The goals are not necessarily the problem (though some are), the methodology is.

It is a grab bag of aspirational fantasies comprised of appeasing adversaries and stabbing friends in the back… slowly. Not all of it is nutso, but overall, it’s just not feasible, possible or in a lot of cases desirable.

Thanks for posting. I wasn’t familiar with any of this. I wonder where he got these, ideas.

I thought so. Getting out of entangling alliances. Which of those “friends” do you believe would not throw the US to the wolves in a heartbeat if it suited them?

The US doesn’t have “friends.” No country does. What those are is temporary alliances that are useful whole interests converge.

Your foreign policy ideas are from 1987. The world has moved on. The “good guys” from WWII took off their white hats.

One example: The sole purpose of the EU is to compete with the US. That’s it.

And England jumped right in. Friend?

Those old “friends” are draining us dry. Like an acoholic mooch in a bar. Like a woman we stay with out of habit.

Time to get some new “friends.”

Oh, and he’s absolutely correct about Israel.

My FP ideas are based on today’s reality, not some aspirational fantasy.

There was a time when we could have bought Russia into the west. That time has passed… at least for the foreseeable future. It will never happen while the Putin regime exists. To make it a possibility, the first thing that must happen is the collapse of the Putin regime. Ukraine gives us that opportunity. Unfortunately, we are saddled with a meat puppet whose policy is to give Ukraine enough to not lose but not enough to win. Guaranteeing a slow death for Ukraine.

My view on alliances has not changed. We need to maintain our status in NATO only so long as NATO cannot work without us. In order to get to the place where its possible to change our status, first Ukraine must be settled and in NATO. Then we can change our status to “observer” and concentrate our efforts in building and expanding ANZUS into a NATO of the pacific, bringing in Japan, S Korea, The Philippines, Thailand, and eventually India, Vietnam and Indonesia.

China is our biggest concern, we however are stuck until Europe can do Europe.

This is naive. Very short term thinking.

The alliances you denigrate give us such an advantage over China in any conflict, soft or hard. AUKUS. The Quad. The Five Eyes.

Who are China’s friends? Allies?

Russia? Iran? North Korea? South Africa? It’s a really crappy list.

I’m just fueling the rumor mill with a report I have seen. :slightly_smiling_face: I have no idea if any of it is true, just adding comment to a previous post by another poster.

Could be. It’s just been mentioned Trump made a trip to Ohio and people are speculating. I haven’t seen any signs one way or the other on a pick.

Lot of speculation around Burgum as well.

I can’t see where Burgum brings in even one extra vote.

Never even heard of him till he ran for prez.

My concern is he just won his senate seat 2 years ago, would not be thrilled if he left early. We already have Senator Crazy Hair in Ohio (Sherrod Brown) we do NOT need 2 Dem Senators

don’t you have a republican governor?

Please, please, please

Let it be Scott; if not
Let it be Rubio; if not
Let it be Youngkin
