Vigilantism is someone being judge, jury and executioner. It’s based only on their feeling of guilt or innocence. It would lead to chaos.

The people who attacked Rittenhouse were vigilantes.

Good point. I hear the term vigilante and I jump to the execution part. I don’t believe Huber and Grosskreutz fit the definition. The intent was to disarm and prevent further shootings.
