Not like the Dubya passed pro-capitalism like no child left behind and a prescription drug benefit. President Trump says his health plan will cover everyone for almost no money. Gotta love that capitalism.

I’ve read dumber ■■■■ on twitter today.

Too bad it’s totally not true.

Well I guess that’s that then.

Look at what happened to Jefferson Airplane.

Actually, the intolerant, sometimes violent, divisiveness going on now is making a very significant portion of Americans … particularly on the right … withhold their opinions, for fear of retribution. But they vote …

You are right. The left tends to identify by minority status while the right tends to identify by accomplishment, character, and principles.

I love irony.

Well, you got that right.

The problem is, to the left, compromise means agreeing with them. Beginning with the political correct movement right through to the cancel culture, the left has insisted that their way is the only way.

I think that goes both ways.

I work with a lot of very conservative people and I make it a point to not discuss politics.

And I vote.

She’s already compromised down to 2,200,000,000,000 how much more would you like.

The cities/states need money.

The right doesn’t try to identify with race? Religion? Patriotism?

Sounds like extortion. Similar to the mob demanding protection money from business owners.

I’m not big on bowing to extortion myself.

Clearly 1968 predates your life. The current strife is mainly manufactured by social media and fake news, but back in the 1960s there was no need to manufacture strife.

In the 1960s, there were real white supremacists and segregationists; many were Democrat committee chairs in congress. President Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King were all assassinated, and large parts of US cities burned. Young men from working class families were shipped overseas to fight and die in Vietnam, while the sons of the elites got college deferments to participate in protests and try out the latest drugs. Nuclear war was just minutes away on several occasions.

We are massively better off now, but you would never know it judging by the fake news.

So do I.

Indeed, I do.

I grew up in an inner city. Most of my friends growing up were black and Hispanic. We NEVER talked about race and we got along just fine. As far as I’m concerned the message of modern liberalism is that people are defined by the color of their skin and that’s the most important thing about a person. That’s why they insist that we all need to have conversations about race.

The color of your skin doesn’t define who you are.
