Let’s compare a Freshman Representative who has been in office a little over a month, slapped down by her party leadership and unequivocally apologized to a Representative who has been elected multiple times, never really apologized and has only been kind of held to account even counting that milquetoast rebuke after the GOP lost power in the house.
Yeah. Point it out and you can see the difference in the response between the two parties.
Party leadership denounced the first statement that can be construed as anti Semitic by Omar after she has taken office… not the tenth, not the twentieth. The first.
The way that party leadership is handling Omar vs how party leadership handles King is not even comparable.
Yes. If Omar continues down this path she should be censured.
The thing is that I did not initially see how her statement could be 100% construed as being anti Semitic… but Pelosi wants to run a much tighter ship than the GOP… so it is her perogative to do so.
Yet the two situations are treated the same by some on here. It’s dishonest to ignore the years of King’s racism and lack of rebuttal by the GOP and then to look at the Dems and compare and deem them the same.
I like that Pelosi is running a tighter ship. She is telling all Democrats in the House “I am the leader. We need to watch what we say, and I will make sure if you are out of line, you will apologize.”
Neat whataboutism…instead of actually saying he should be boited from office or censured…you do whataboutism…and then you folks cry foul when people question your ideas on racism…
Maybe both parties need to really ratchet up pressure for these people to resign, be censured, removed from committees. Enough of the apologize, all is forgiven.
Was King ordered to apologize after his first, second, third, fourth, fifth, etc bouts of racism? How about Trump? He started his campaign off with racist comments.
Why are you holding dems to a higher standard then the party you support? Personally, I like that Nancy handled it right away.
