One thread conservatives preaching about property owners being able to turn away blacks from business because “freedom”. Now they are preaching YouTube doesnt have the right to censor on their platform.

My objection is the double standard.

Turning away blacks and gays because you don’t want to associate with them is the EXACT SAME DOUBLE STANDARD you’re complaining about with YouTube.

“I don’t want to treat you equally to other people by allowing you in my store because you’re gay”.

Aside from that, you still have not provided the correct answer on how to discover if there’s a “double standard” being employed in the first place.

But YouTube demonitizing Crowder’s videos has nothing to do with Patreon, or any other alternative funding.

Anyone who was voluntarily funding Crowder through Patreon or whatever can still do so.

I think you’re a little confused about what happened here.

All YouTube did was demonitize his channel - which means he isn’t receiving ad revenue from YouTube. YouTube did not do anything to prevent Crowder from receiving funding from Patreon, or any other funding source.

Steven Crowder doesnt even have a Patreon account, or an account with any other crowd-funding site.

I don’t watch Crowder but he is still up, and a lot of his videos had already been demonetized, even Vice said he came out ahead on the whole thing getting new subscribers and mug sales. On the other hand thousands of smaller channels got wiped out by being demonetized.

The problem is in their platform what he did is no different than the stuff Trevor Noah, Samantha Bee, and host of others do on a daily basis. They know if they ban him they would need to ban them as well.
