Hurricane Helene

Thank you.

I see you got your answer already, but when you said that all I could think of was hurricane Sandy back in 2012. It went right up the coast, then took a hard left into NJ. It wasn’t even a hurricane when it hit us, but I never seen anything like that. I can’t imagine what a category anything would look like. I was just slightly east of its path.

This is one bad ass bitch of a storm. I think more damage and loss of life was felt in the Appalachia’s than Florida. I saw a report about Chimney Rock NC. I have been motorcycling through there, Ashville, Sugarloaf Mountain, Cherokee, Pisgah, Great Smoky Mts National Park etc. The photos of areas and roads I had traveled were impossible to believe. It’s all gone. My God.

My brother’s street in Punta Gorda FL with three feet of water, unprecedented in anyone’s memory. It came to within inches of his house. He had his boat in the driveway ready to go, the last couple of feet came up fast and he thought they would need it.

Crazy that even with an insanely destructive hurricane tearing everything up, there’s still more electric lighting at night than North Korea.
