Indeed. And a monopoly on lethal force is a prerequisite to the final enforcement of those same laws.
The 2nd Amendment is a freakin’ problem.
Tools include “a nation of laws!” and “the common good!”, eminent domain, confiscation, the lawyer guild creating destitution, etc.

Steel-W0LF:
Which is why the solution is to get rid of the illegals, and force the agricultural industry to hire legal workers at whatever wage supply and demand supports.
Not to import the next class of brown people democrats want picking their crops.
What society has ever existed that did not have people willing or forced to do hard manual labor for low wages? Ever.

The government responded to the whims of the majority at the time. It was a long standing, recognized practice. The policies in the final period were more a reaction to the spreading decrease of societal acceptance of slavery. What was happening was state by state, and nation by nation, governments were moving to outlaw slavery. The act of declaring slavery illegal was the new thing under the law.
Based on an extensive propaganda campaign to rationalize it. Dehumanization, undesirables, unworthy, incapable.

I don’t think so. The two go hand in hand in property law.
If you’re talking about Biden you’re correct.
He oppened the border and created a modern day slavery.
Women are traficked and sold into sex industry, children sold by hundreds of thousands to sweat shops and pedophiles…Cartels killing millions of Americans with Fentanyl…
All this mayhem and assault on a civilized, most advanced and richest society in the World without firing a single bullet or a grain of powder.
Yes it’s the Government but WHOSE Government?
And it’s the same Gov. that fought tooth 'n nail to keep slavery before the Civil War.
Democrats. Then AND now.

Did you ever stop to think, during Biden shrieking, that being illegal increases subjectivity to criminal activity?
I should be asking YOU about that.

Go look in the mirror for your answer.
How much is too much?
Any is too much.
Limiting it to what is specifically in the Constitution is a pipe dream as Spooner pointed out.

There IS a full proof way to limit it or control it, (The Government), and it’s in the hands of a voter.
Vote the right people into it.
But that takes voter education and critical thinking.
Replace education with Indoctrination and you’re half way there in turning voters into sheeple.
Unicorns and Care Bears are real too. You’re not gonna get this in a room filled with twenty or so people, in a country of 300+ million? Not a bloody chance in hell.
Outside of very specific subjects all education is indoctrination
