Thus why I mentioned the only way to truly end BRC for those born to people not in the country legally is an amendment. But it would seem some people understand such amendment would never pass in todayâs political climate and probably not anytime in the next century or two. Clearly it hasnât in the past century and a half.

Iâm not debating birthright citizenship, Iâm simply asking whether the US has ever compelled anyone here illegally to serve in any of our past wars in which there was a draft. This is simply a consideration to the extent the US has exercised itâs jurisdiction on those here illegally.
