Agreed. They can’t impeach him, he’s not in office.

I stand corrected. I’ll bet you they don’t last through the end of that term, 2028.

Trump won’t be in the WH following the 2024 election (IMHO), so that is a moot point. Biden would be 86 and that is a tough call. While I’m willing to bet he makes it through the 2024 election cycle, I’m not willing to bet he would complete his second term.

It’s not moot at all. It doesn’t matter if Trump is there are not for the bet.

And you don’t know he won’t be. Hoping is not knowing.

In my opinion it would take a miracle for Trump to win in 2024. The real question is whether or not he makes it to 82. I’m not as confident with that one! :slightly_smiling_face:

It took a miracle in 2016 too.

In 2016, Trump was a breath of fresh air. Exactly what the country needed at the time. Following Trump’s primary win, I too was caught up in the hoopla. I still believe that for the most part, Trump’s Presidency was successful. I voted for his reelection in 2020.

With his post-election behavior, Trump has now become a liability to the GOP. I believe that liability will haunt the GOP for the foreseeable future. We already had a preview of that with the disappointing 2022 election results.

Agreed.

It would have to be the new House seated in January 2024.

Sure it is.

Is there a law binding on Congress or a SCOTUS precedent that makes it definite?

(Not just someone opinion.)

WW

Relatively young?

He’s currently 76, meaning 78 in 2024.

There was a loud group in 2020 saying at Joe Biden was to old for the job at 78.

WW

I don’t think Biden will actually seek reelection.

There will be a reason devised for him to bow out.

I’m actually fine with that.

No in this battle, I have front line experience.

I didn’t say the “critprogs” were winning, either.

I have a different view of who, exactly, is a “critprog”.

There aren’t just two camps.

And of course the Republicans are screwing it up.

Because it’s all about power politics to them.

Yes, the wording of the Constitution. Did you figure out the Blount case yet?

Of course you do. In every battle on every topic. We all know.

How convenient for you.

There are but two sides. Everything else is just alliances.

What wording in the constitution lists being in office as part of the impeachment process. Especially if the reasons for impeachment occurred during a term in office.

(And yes, conspiring to remain in illegal possession of government property and classified materials for after the term ends, would be grounds based on action in office.)

No there are not.
