The chances of 67 senators voting to convict Trump is absolutely zero!

In any case, none of that really matters. As long as Trump is in the equation, DEMs will hold onto the WH and likely see significant gains in Congress, come 2024. Even in the unlikely event he is convicted and becomes ineligible, his ardent followers would simply stay home. DEMs would still win big.

they had their chance before and couldnt pull the trigger.

only mustering 57 votes.

No chance of winning, but likely shoe in for any generic DEM presidential candidate.

I don’t know. To premise is indictment and conviction of felonies (IMHO MAL documents are the most likely).

That changes the whole dynamic as now you have a convicted felon running for office.

It probably keeps him from winning the primary. It definitely keeps him from getting elected.

They can’t impeach him unless he’s in office.

DeSantis will shift enough to win the general.

Why?

Variables have changed. Listen to the chatter.

That’s not certain, as there is no definitive precident.

There is the Blount case from 1799 of him being impeached after leaving office (but the Senate didn’t hold a trial).

So it’s actually an open question.

Kind of a moot point. I don’t see a GOP controlled House looking to impeach Trump, assuming that is even possible.

The only dynamic that matters is what party is sitting in the White House. That dynamic won’t change, regardless of what happens to Trump. The GOP simply has no chance in 2024, because in some form or fashion, Trump will still be part of the equation.

No, it isn’t uncertain.

You might want to look into that.

Trump still looks to be healthy. Unless something completely unexpected takes place, I see the possibility as slim.

Are you joking?

Obviously, he isn’t the poster boy for good health, he is grossly overweight and he lives on junk food. But he is relatively young. I strongly believe he still has a few good years ahead of him.

He’s 78 with the body of a 90 year-old. He’ll be 80 in 2024.

But variables haven’t changed to the point where a GOP controlled House will be looking to Impeach Trump for a third time.

He’s actually 76 and will be 78 in 2024. Biden is 80 and will be 82 in 2024. Neither is the picture of good health, but I’m betting they will both make it through the election.
