I said they were among the first… so I was right. There were more than forty states yet to make a move when New York and New Jersey did.

Please concede the your silly point and let’s move on from this.

New York City has a population density of ~26,500 people per square mile.

That sounds like a lot, right?

Seoul, South Korea has a population density of ~45,000 people per square mile.

0.06% of Seoul’s population contracted coronavirus.

0.34% of NYCs population has it…at the moment.

That’s a sixfold difference with a city with half the population density.

You were saying?

No they weren’t.

At the moment.

Something interesting, not sure if posted yet, but this graph from IHME says deaths will plateau around May 1. Over August 1. Of course no indications on any rates on relapses in the event of it becoming a seasonal illness.

Piss poor deflection at best.

Now, how about a straight answer?

What exactly will we be doing with these hospitals during the years, decades, even centuries between outbreaks?

When in five, fifty, or 200 years from now we actually have a need to utilize them where will you get the trained Medico’s and technicians to operate them?

Do you really want Trump to suspend Habeus Corpus and declare Martial Law?

Seriously?

That would be the only condition in which the president could lawfully take over wresting power from the governors.

Are you sure that’s what you want? Trump with unlimited power and no accountability?

Horse Hockey. Short of a declaration of Martial Law he has no such power.

Completely false of course.

Had we cut off all travel and sealed the borders before the first case ever got out of China it never would have made it here to start with, at least not this season

Hindsight tends to make people believe they knew it all and had all the right answers from the start.

Thankfully everyone here has a posting history so we can match what they had to say at any point in time with the timeline that shows exactly what was known, what was being done, and what was in development throughout.

Monkeys Flinging Poop in Purely Petty, Petulant and duplicitous fashion says far more about the person flinging it than his/her targets.

Always contradict… no matter what the facts might be.

Just addressing the claim it was “impossible to have done anything about New York City” because of “all those people packed on top of one another”.

List the specific measures the Trump Administration should have put into effect to protect NYC and on what timeline given what was known and what was possible at the time.

The federal govt does not have the same level of control over American citizens as Korea has over theirs. When Korea announces their isa virus that may kill people, 90% comply right off the bat with wearing masks and self quarentine. When the US federal and state govt announce the same thing, people go to Daytona for spring break.

Hmm…maybe this pandemic will teach us something then…

No I don’t.

I know.

Doubtful, Americans tend to be very short sighted and to lack anything resembling focus.

Six months after this outbreak ends we’ll be right back to doing what makes us comfortable.

In the John Hopkins report which rated the US the most prepared country in the world, the threats to the US were very interesting to me.

Singapore has a handle on it…

Migrant workers. They can be replaced after all of this is over, so what’s the problem?
