I didn’t say you can’t have opinions or talk about it. I said you can’t talk about now things work. You can base your position on articles all you want but without actually being at the location your opinions on how things work is meaningless

Close to Record lows in some areas

There were around 2,100-2,300 murders in NYC in 1991.

There were 485 in 2021:

I guess we’ll see where the '22 numbers end up in a few months.

Unprecedented though! :man_facepalming:

this makes no sense

you’re trying to draw a distinction where there is none

Throughout the 2010s the numbers were in the 300s, so 2021 is almost a 50% increase from the previous decade. And this year they are on track to top 2021. And this past july there were 40% more than the same period last year.

But hey, it’s not as bad as some historical max, so … something, something.

Over a generation ago.

And that generation is where many of our current pols come from. :man_shrugging:

That high? Yes. Last time they were this high was when?

I don’t know, I’m going off your posts.

2021 could be an anomaly. Crime in NYC has been cut in half since 2000. 10% since 2010

Start of a new trend.

Guess we shall see. Need more than one data point to identify a trend. If you use 10 years… crime is down 10%. If you use 20 years it is down almost 50%.

If you use 2 years, it’s up.

@PurpnGold ,
I’ve been meaning to ask you. To what do you attribute this recent increase in belligerence from the black nation?

5% increase in 2021 of 2019. That’s hardly alarming

2021-22

I’m not sure I can buy into the framing. “Belligerence” is not measurable.

Be specific.
