Well since I can’t play the new Doom I need like 20 of you to start rapid firing interrogative questions at me at once while heavy metal music streams.

That sucks. I’ve been meaning to get rid of my 2500k for a while… was going to give to my brother for his kids. It’s a solid build and I just really don’t use it for much any more since I built my new one.

Plex/media server? htpc? But really probably just dust collection. Hard to throw out these things that still work but don’t keep up. Hell, my 06 Tundra is 250k+ and I’m not putting her in the trash.

My neighbor was just telling me the local highschool would take my mobo and ram as a donation and put it to use.

Well…would have.

What do you mean “may be”?

Mistype, “I maybe.”

Apologies.

Would have really enjoyed seeing them perform in neighboring Worcester in May, but suspect show will be canceled.

Probably too early to tell, but this man is still giving speaking engagements on behalf of fire departments/EMS. He’s supposed to be coming to Concord, New Hampshire. That would be interesting to see, but maybe it’s too early to tell if he’ll still be able to do it.

Shen Yun was coming here, too. But I wasn’t going to pay $100 for a nosebleed seat to see them!

I was going to see a storyteller named Jeanne Robertson in Omaha 2 days ago. That was pushed out to November.

I was going to see Volbeat next month for my birthday. oh well…

My wife and I were finally going to take that 30th Anniversary trip in May. We’ve been married 32 years now, the trip has been pushed back twice because of major implementations at my work. The plan was to take a Coach Trip around Ireland for two weeks, then spend a week or so in Germany with our daughter who is now stationed there.

Then to London for the 3 of us to cap it off at MCM Comic Con 2020 where the crew from Critical Role was scheduled to have a live panel. And I’d get a chance to visit 221B Baker Street.

All in the crapper now. Luckily we are getting all out money back so it’s getting socked away and may try for a trip in the fall or next spring.

I was close to there. Was stationed at Rhine Ordnance Barracks in Kaiserslautern from '93 to '96. My son was born at Laundstuhl in '94.

Best of luck to your daughter and thank her for her service, from an old retired Army Master Sergeant.

Smallpox has been eradicated. Are you thinking of measles?

One family member has to go to work. The other two of us home can work from home. In fact, I was already working from home. The dog’s fine. The cat’s driving me nuts.

The biggest problem in my county/general area is that I am a year-round resident in a resort town. Second home owners from urban areas had been coming down to “shelter in place” in their summer homes, rather than staying in their primary homes. This put a major strain on our grocery stores, that moderate their ordering in the off season. There was about a 10 day period when they were out of stock in meat, dairy, paper goods, cleaning products, and very low in many other areas. They are just about getting up to speed, but have to ration - some things you can only buy 1 or 2 of. And of the 6 confirmed cases in my county, two are known to be from NYC, not locals. No word on the other 4 yet. I read an article in the NY Post about people with summer homes in the Hamptons fleeing the city and putting a similar burden on the local population, grocery stores and even medical facilities.

Because of the nature of my community, many businesses already cut back in the off season or close, so the impact on employment hasn’t been as serious as in other areas.

As the other poster said, I think you are thinking of measles. Smallpox is erradicated.

Measles was close to being eradicated, but has returned.

I practice social distancing on a regular basis just normally. For me pretty much nothing has changed except now I don’t have to go to work at all. I still haven’t had to go to the grocery store and am pretty good for the next 2-3 weeks. So I am not going to go out there and take stuff other people may actually need right now. Until all of this I never actually realized just how stocked up we’ve always been.

Not “thinking of measles.”

Maybe you are thinking of measles

I typically keep a good supply on hand too.

Word is chest freezers are as tough to find as TP right now.

Yeah, I knew one of those almost-eradicated had come back, just couldn’t remember which one.
