Of course it would. In fact, equality is a major facet of gender studies.

I think we elected a congress and Admin. who both agreed on how to spend this 10M. and I don’t think I know enough about the specifics of the reason or the program to comment further.

No it isn’t. Equity is. This is in Pakistan.

Let’s spend $10M on Bible studies in Pakistan then.

That should leave a mark…

Yeah, but then we wouldn’t have a vaccine, and thousands of companies, including those in vital industries would be belly up.

This ■■■■ is hard. You’re never gonna get a stimulus package that pleases everyone 100%.

That first stimulus had a lot of junk in it, and the roll outs were tough, and the programs were hastily assembled, but hey, they were all doing hte best they could. Including trump and his administration.

Same is true here, except Trump should have told his party that 2K was a deal breaker for him,

Just because you and I don’t what the reason is doesn’t mean there isn’t one.

Maybe … maybe Mitch McConnell is the problem.

McConnell did not explain why he objected to Schumer’s request to fast-track the bill, but noted that President Trump has demanded Congress act on repealing liability protections for tech companies and election-related reforms, in addition to the stimulus checks.

“Those are the three important subjects the president has linked together. This week, the Senate will begin a process to bring these three priorities into focus,” McConnell said in a possible nod to a future package.

This guy is gonna try to repeal section 230 in exchange for the checks.

■■■■ that. Filibuster the NDAA till the congressional term ends, add $2000 checks to it when they come back for the next session.

100 million adults.

Their kids also qualify.

Oh yeah…you’re right.

It’s not 2 grand per child thou.

Charities! The CEO’s of most “charities” earn more than some CEO’ of Fortune 500 corporations how much do you think would be left to distribute after “admin and overheads” have been taken out? At a guess 25 cents out of every dollar

I thought it was.

Lots of articles out there have the $400 billion cost though. Here’s one:

“Congress’ nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation estimated that raising the payments to $2,000 per adult would cost nearly $464 billion.”

Mitch says move out and go live in Amazon Prime labor camp.

Some didn’t lose jobs, but business is down. Some sat working from home for a year collecting their checks but missing their lives…

The american people should read it more as “here take this money to help you maintain covid compliance and also as a bribe so you don’t come rip us to shreds for messing this up so bad and ruining a year of your lives.”

Because if a million people get evicted, none of this ■■■■ matters.

You should talk to your representatives and congress people.

Not sure why you would want to teach bible studies in a Muslim country though. Also probably violates the seperation of church and state, but go for it. Try to get them to propose it if you feel strongly about it, andit serves our national interest.

Did you talk to yours about gender studies?

The more I think about it, the more I believe the vast majority of this money will end up in some humanities department of some critical theory university in the US.

Don’t take it then, meanwhile I’ll settle at $10g.

The reason why entire mobile home lending market hasn’t flipped over already is due to Warren Buffett’s generosity.

He pulls the lever and then what, we’ll see a lot of republicans calling him a great capitalist right?

No. But I don’t expect the governemtn of a 50 state republic to only do exactly what I think they should do. I recognize that there are competing visions for america, and different views on priorities.

I largely trust the people elected to govern to the best of their abilities for the benefit of the US. There are of course expcetpions, like Gohmert, who seems like a whack job publicity hound, That King guy who clearly was a racist, Trump, who is a pathological liar, and vairous other losers and jerks along the way. But by in large, they are all doing the best they can.

So we end up with stuff like this - that we don’t really understand the reasoning for. But I trust some one daoes, argued the case, and got it to pass. That’s the way the system work.

Don’t take that as a suggestion that you, if you are so moved, shouldnt bitch and complain about it. Because your complaints inform your representatives, and are part of the slowly moving gears of democracy.

You don’t like this 10M spending. Call your rep. Ask them what it’s about. After you are fully informed, continue complainign or not, as you deem fit.

I’m not gonna sweat it. Bigger fish to fry. And Lindsey Grahams explanation makes enough sense to me to put it to bed.

I’m taking it. I missed checks.
