I believe that there’s an investigation going on regarding FISA warrants being issued, where false information was used to obtain them. When you recognize who sponsored the gathering of the false information used in this process, you’ll find the campaign of Hillary. That’s just one of many criminal wrong doings that have yet to be exposed, properly investigated and indictments made…if necessary?

In reality, for the last forty years certain types have been buying into Republican Scandal Mongering. It’s decided a crime occurred, then they work backwards to track.

Different topic. This has nothing to do with Hillary. I respectfully ask that you follow community guidelines and:

Don’t divert a topic by changing it midstream.

Actually it does have something to do with Hillary. She was very outspoken and quite convincing about WMDs being in Iraq.

I always found that argument so strange. Here we are, post 9/11, and the President is saying that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction. Sends his SoS to tell the UN about them. Briefs Congress.

Almost every Republican authorizes force, I think. A lot of Democrats did not, but HRC and Biden authorize ostensibly to force Hussein into compliance for inspections. Dubya has no intention of wasting an authorization, invades Iraq, finds no weapons and the whole region goes to hell.

And who do we continue to blame? HRC and Biden. Their sin was believing the lies the White House was putting out.

So it’s not that bad to lie, it’s bad to believe the lie. Strange logic.

Those “generalities” as you put it, are Federal crimes. And contrary to Comey’s stated reason for not recommending that Lynch prosecute Hillary for those crimes, lack of criminal intent is not a valid excuse under the law.

I believe the last time I took a look at this it turned out that no-one had been prosecuted under that specific law unless criminal intent could be proven. Been a while though.

And while intent wasn’t necessary under the law, it was the precedent. If they got rid of that standard a ■■■■■■■■ of people would have to be prosecuted, or Clinton could probably (validly) claim that the prosecution was politically motivated since others weren’t held to that standard.

Speaking more generally, intent is a huge element re: the decision to prosecute.

Wrong. The statute she violated does not have an exception for lack of intent. Comey made that up. But, in fact, she did show intent in both violations. She deliberately set up the private server where she proceeded to mishandle classified materials, and she deliberately had it wiped clean after the subpoena was issued.
