I get it, my father worked his arse off trying to keep a construction business afloat. I used to get pissed off when he missed my HS football & baseball games and the old man was a “semi-pro” baseball player in his day. Not until I started having my own kids did I realize you can’t make up the time you’re away.

I’m of the opinion Barron Trump is kept away from the limelight ( of sorts). He’s 14, we have a 14 year old grandson and before Covid wrecked his sports programs and forced him inside to virtual school? Well let’s say the last thing I think a 14 year old needs in their lives is being paraded around or the subject of the media attack dogs.
The boy might well be being groomed to take a prominent position in the Trump Enterprise ( if there is one) after his old man leaves the WH.

My dad divorced my mom when I was fifteen. He later told me she wasn’t helpful enough in his career because she wanted no part in the spotlight he craved. He said if he had to choose between his career and his family he’d choose his career - and he did.
He came to really regret that in his final years, but the damage was done.

Don’t get me wrong, I idolized my father and cherished the time we had together. He died when I was 19 at age 51. He loved our mother and worked his ass off for his family, my brothers and I all wanted to be him.
He chased the Nazis from Normandy back to Berlin and was awarded his share of commendations for valor like hundreds of thousands of others. After looking into not just my father’s military experience but other remarkable things he did as a HS athlete, amateur boxer & baseball player and his construction accomplishments all as a first born generation from Italian immigrants? It’s easy for me to look at myself and sometimes think: “I ain’t ■■■■■■
