But science/medicine has made it possible to have surgery that changes a man into a woman. It’s called a sex change operation or process.
People who do so go on to live their lives as that person.
You want to say but they’re not really real and they weren’t born that way (whole point of the surgery btw) etc but so what.
I don’t get the point of reiterating that over and over.
Think of it this way…if this happened to any one of our family members, i guess some family would accept it and some may not.
That’s what we have here.
You may not accept the new person but they still would live their lives as their new gender.

Except of course there is no treatment or surgery known to man that can actually transform someone from male to female or vice versa.

And here we are again at square one.
They do undergo surgery, they do change gender and just so no-one mistakes them from biological females, they are even distinguished by their very own subtitle, transgender in case there’s any doubt.
