Now Hiring: Police Officer
Are you interested in becoming part of the occupation with the highest suicide rate of any profession? If you choose not to kill yourself, you’ll be happy to know that a 2013 study published by the National Institutes of Health found the average life expectancy of a police officer to be 57. Does a divorce rate of almost certainty sound great to you?
Well then, once you go through an invasive and detailed background check, physiological examination, physical examination, fitness test, written test and a 6 month long (often live in) boot camp style academy, you’ll be released to the streets where uncertainty and possible death wait around every corner!
Before your first tour of duty, you can look forward to being issued used and often expired body armor that may or may not fit well but will still “probably” stop a bullet. A used firearm, sometimes 20 years old or older with no maintenance record will be what you depend upon for your life. Rest assured that more often than not your equipment will be whatever was cheapest! You will be trained to the state MINIMUM standards, gray areas will often be entered in training as your given a poorly photocopied and dated handout to read on your own time for your official training. Sometimes you will go your entire carrier without getting a refresher on some of the courses you had in the academy!
But that’s not all!
-
How would you like to work 6 days on, 2 days off
-
Rotate to midnights every 2 weeks
-
Weekends, holidays are a must, every year
-
Mandatory overtime, often with no notice!
-
Court on your days off
-
Natural disaster, blizzard, pandemic – forget your family, home and personal safety and get to work slacker.
-
Morning and or afternoon court on your midnight rotation (Sleep??….Suck it up butter cup!)
-
An entry-level police officer starts off making $31,965 per year on average in the US according to reported salaries by Indeed users! Finally get that used car from 2003 you’ve been eyeing up!
-
You’ll have a split second to make a choice, but don’t fear! The Monday morning quarterbacks and Facebook lawyers will have your back and be sure to correct you with how they would have handled the situation better.
-
Eating at a restaurant? – make sure to request they hold the spit, shards of glass and rat poison
-
Dated equipment – by the rust old locker full! Some of which is known to cause crippling injury - (But it looks squared away and it’s the way we’ve always done it)
-
Risk everything for people who hate you – even if your killed – the lawyers will come after your estate and leave your wife and kids in the gutter. If the Lawyers fail, you’ll be a hero and your wife and kids will get a flag of medium quality from your local Lowes etc. to fill your void.
But wait, act now and you’ll also get:
-
Assaulted and injured at a rate three times higher than any other profession
-
Be sent into Covid 19 areas with no training and no equipment! We’ve lost 121 officers this year alone, the next one could be you!
-
Dead Bodies, yeah you get to touch and smell them, be careful of the “poppers and leakers”
-
Rape victims, children beaten and molested – you get to see all their attackers get a slap on the wrist after spending weeks investigating the crimes!
-
Criminals you arrest, it’s a race you’ll always loose - no matter how fast you are at the paperwork they’ll be out faster.
-
Arrest someone’s kids for doing wrong? Don’t you have anything better to do? Be prepared to get berated on how petty, racist and worthless you are.
Now you’re asking, how can this get any better? For a limited time, we’re also throwing in:
-
Family and friends exiting your life forever
-
The family and friends that choose to still speak with you will be sure to bring up how bad “this one cop was” at fun events like Christmas, kids birthday parties and family reunions.
-
Criminals and scumbags alike will use you to use the system. You’ll get put in harms way time and time again for their petty games and reckless antics.
Use promo code (Oink) now and we’ll also include these bonuses:
-
Threatening your family (especially children) with murder and rape!
-
Pays cuts or frozen salaries
-
PTSD from decades of horrors like burned children, rotting corpses, getting shot at, violent attacks from the very people who called you for help, blood and guts from car accidents, people who use you as their means of completing suicide and more!
-
Racist - your background check made sure you weren’t, but as soon as you dawn the uniform you now are “Blue Hitler.”
-
Just remember that when the time for you to get greedy and ask for standard benefits or a pay increase, you’ll get the same answer we’ve been giving you for decades “ We really appreciate the hard work you do, but its just not in the budget this year.”
BEST OF All
If you’re selfless enough to do this thankless job – You’ll forever be in the debt and gratitude of millions of great Americans who love and support you. The silent majority whose trust you have earned and respect you have won.
Hold the line, stay safe and God bless you!

This article doesn’t say for sure. He could or could not get into a run off I guess.
But this dude’s corrupt…
" ATLANTA — Fulton County’s long-time district attorney faces two separate state investigations, but it could be voters who remove him from office.
District Attorney Paul Howard came in second in the primary election for his seat on Tuesday, the worst election showing he’s had since taking office in 1997. He now advances to a runoff with Democratic challenger Fani Willis.
“What you will overwhelmingly see, is that the people of Fulton County, Georgia, they desperately want a change,” Willis said on Wednesday."
Later in the same story…
"Channel 2 and AJC reporters discovered that the city of Atlanta sent $250,000 to the district attorney’s office for crime prevention programs and almost 80 percent of that went into Howard’s paycheck.
Howard in May called the issue an “administrative matter” and said he expects to be exonerated.
“He does what is best for him and what the district attorney should do is what’s for the people. We see that in you stealing $195,000 from black and brown children,” Willis said."
That guy’s the District Attorney???

I’m reading that the blue flu has hit Atlanta as well.
Could it be only a matter of time before we have a pandemic on our hands?

He is lynig. He’s in serious trouble and will probably lose a runoff election, this case is his golden duck to use to keep his office.
GBI hasn’t even gotten anywhere near finishing the investigation and this DA is just throwing every charge he can think of at the two officers purely for political purposes.
In his seven terms as DA he’s prosecuted 40 cops, 9 for Murder/Manslaughter and has zero convictions. That should tell you a whole lot.
No, they’ve been charged because the DA is losing an election and has an axe to grind.

That’s a very real possibility.

I watched him on tv, I think he’s going to cut and run.
People have confirmation bias, don’t ya know.

That’s what he was charged with and the video and photographic evidence the DA possesses (and showed a still of) confirm.
ETA: Oh, and it is what Rolfe’s partner also confirmed to investigators. He is working with the DA against his partner on this one.
What specifically do you disagree with?

Important Safety Tip. You might wanna be careful how much faith you put in that lying DA. All the reasons have been pointed out above.
Officer Rolfe’s Attorney, a fellow named Lance LaRosso, was on Laura Ingraham’s show last night. Now, I understand he’s there to advocate for his client but he was pretty forceful in dealing with the Fulton County DA’s assertions yesterday. Attorney for Atlanta officer accused of murder says Rayshard Brooks 'was not running away' when he died | Fox News
A couple of highlights…At about 3:00 into the video from the attached link, the video points out that the District Attorney just two weeks ago was saying something completely different about a taser being a potentially deadly weapon. Then he said “Under Georgia Law a Taser is considered a deadly weapon under Georgia Law”.
At 5:46 in the video Attorney Larosso deals with the “No Medical Attention Officer Rolfe kicked Mr. Brooks” claim.
“My client never kicked Mr. Brooks,” the lawyer said. “If there was a video of my client kicking Mr. Brooks, you would have seen it”…“He [the DA] shows a still [where] one leg is planted and the other one’s bent. He could be leaning down to try to give him first aid, it could have been when he was trying to evaluate whether he needed handcuffs. This officer gave him CPR, monitored his pulse prior to that, talked to him to try to keep him breathing and called for EMS and coordinated other efforts on the scene.”
The Georgia Bureau if Investigation is still and work and has not finished…no Grand Jury…
Like I said, that District Attorney might not exactly be the most credible person in this whole scenario.
I said it above and I’ll say it again, It is wayyyyy early in this process but it sure appears those officers, particularly officer Rolfe, are being railroaded by a District Attorney in political trouble in order to placate the mob…And that’s a very bad thing.

That’s pretty much it in a nutshell. Bears no resemblance to the Floyd case.

This DA reminds me of Mike Nifong.
This is absolutely what it is. The District Attorney is currently under investigation for fraud charges and its an election year. This was nothing but a grandstanding move to appeal to the voters and deflect from his own potential criminal charges.
By the time this whole case gets tossed in court it will past the election.
Not sure whats going to be left of Atlanta though. Officers walked off the job en masse last night and I don’t blame them. If I worked in a city with such a corrupt DA that is charging officers and telling lies while justifying the charges I wouldn’t work there either. My job be next.
Atlanta PD and the mayor are downplaying what happened last night because they didn’t want to people to realize just how bad it was. But there were no cops to respond to people with guns calls, baby’s pinned in a car wreck, etc, etc. People were actively listening to the scanners last night as this was happening. Bash the cops if you want. Fire those who didn’t actually quit last night for not responding if you want. Either way you still have no cops and surrounding agencies told the Mayor in no uncertain terms to **** off when she asked for help from them.

And the Blue Flu in Atlanta. Its a harbinger of whats coming nationwide in every city that is pulling this kind of BS toward their cops. All the good cops are going to go get jobs working at Costco where they’ll often be paid better and definitely treated better. And no good candidates are going to apply leaving the only options for replacements being the kinds of guys who are an automatic no right now - the guys who buy used cop cars, deck them out as close to actual cops cars as they can, go around wearing grunt style, and try to act like cops from the time they turn 18.

I apologize to you about our discussions on this. I suppose I didn’t see the forest through the trees.
You were right. I was wrong.

This is my fear…from your post above…
Folks this isn’t all that complicated. There are millions of contacts each year between the police and the rest of us. I’ve seen different numbers but there are 6 to 800,000 law enforcement officers in America.
I don’t know, maybe a month without those folks would be a good wake up call for the rest of us, but that reminder of how important it is to have someone responding to that 9-1-1 call, someone getting the drunk driving off the street, someone running toward the gunshots on our behalf…Maybe a month without those folks would be a good wake up call for all the idiots calling for “Defunding” and “Re Imagining” law enforcement. Unfortunately for most of us normal people the folks making those calls are frequently living in gated communities with private security…
It’s time for America to stop demonizing the men and woman of law enforcement.

Let me know when you have facts to back up your claim, until you do, it’s nothing but your partisan opinion.

It all seems like a good idea until reality rears its head.
I simply cannot believe people are so simple minded as to not see this happening and the results thereof.
I suppose people have lived such sheltered lives that they just assume there will always be protection for them.
Time for some hard lessons.

Of course the criminal element doesn’t want any law enforcement (rioters and criminals in general come to mind).
Then there are those who have been indocrinated(by socialist leaning professors) to the point of being foolish and naieve that don’t appear to want it either.
Lastly there are those who have led sheltered lives and just do not get it.
Then there are those of us who have lived in the real world our whole lives who know police officers are needed and should be supported other then the bad apple here and there.
We often thank police officers for their service when we run into them at restaurants or where ever just like we thank members of the military.
